Allianz UK are looking for a Strategic Account Manager to take ownership of some of our most important broker and network relationships. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on building influence, shaping commercial outcomes, and nurturing partnerships that stand the test of time.

 

The Strategic Account Manager is a crucial market-facing role which governs and drives the relationships with Allianz’s top Commercial strategic broker accounts, with the average SAM overseeing a panel placing >£200m GWP into Allianz UK.

 

As the primary point of contact, the role is fundamental to the success and sustainability of Allianz’s trading relationships with key brokers. The SAM is accountable for setting the strategic direction with a broker and executing on delivery of this strategy through the regional virtual distribution teams.

 

This is a hybrid role based in our London office.

 

Salary Information

 

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

 

About you

 

As our Strategic Account Manager, you’ll

 

· Lead the thinking and drives the agenda for the management of assigned Strategic Accounts within the business through excellent relationship management.

· Deliver profitable growth and improved profitability for assigned brokers by proactively managing and optimising the costs of distribution.

· Plan, implement and deliver the development of broker relationships and business plans for designated broker accounts.

· Consistently monitor broker relationships and the performance of jointly agreed business plans, governing the Fee for Service schedule as necessary to deliver required results.

· Act as the day-to-day focal point (internal and external) effectively liaising with Regions, Branches, Head Office, and other Divisions to ensure the business achieves maximum benefit from assigned broker relationships.

· Understand in its entirety the nature of assigned brokers' business, its marketplace and the extent (and potential) of the relationship.

· Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal governance in relation to broker remuneration and commission disclosure.

 

Essential Skills

 

We don't expect you to know everything from day one, but the following will enable you to hit the ground running:

 

· Excellent relationship management, networking, negotiation and persuasion skills.

· Leadership experience including dealing with business, broker or client leaders at senior level.

· Ideally regional strategic experience but not essential.

· Commercial experience essential including a sound underwriting knowledge.

 

Desirable Skills

 

· ACII qualified or progression towards.

· Educated to A-level, degree standard or equivalent.

· Completion of Excellence in Distribution (L2 or above).
