The Impact You Will Have  

As a Risk Consultant Engineer you will be responsible for identifying, analysing and evaluating risks related to power generation assets and machinery breakdown. You deliver customized, client‑centric risk engineering and advisory services, tailoring risk assessments, loss prevention strategies and analytical insights to the specific operational and strategic needs of each client, supporting long‑term partnerships and sustainable risk improvement. 

You will also leverage loss experience, analytics and engineering expertise to provide risk insights, loss prevention strategies and know‑how transfer to both internal and external stakeholders. 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

• Deliver customized risk engineering and consulting services, act as a trusted advisor to key clients and co-create bespoke risk improvement roadmaps, translating technical findings into actionable insights for operational resilience 

• Perform risk assessments using quantitative and qualitative methodologies and conduct on-site client visits (mostly in Spain) to gather data and discuss findings, producing high-quality loss control reports and risk recommendations 

• Work closely with underwriting colleagues as a business enabler, supporting underwriting decisions and contributing to sustainable and profitable portfolio growth through informed risk selection, pricing, and retention 

• Apply and develop digital risk solutions and data analytics techniques to evaluate loss experience, contribute to portfolio analytics and risk dashboards, and support data modeling initiatives for continuous improvement of analytical methodologies 

• Manage third-party risk consulting services, ensuring quality and consistency, while staying current with industry trends, in order to contribute to continuous client service improvement and innovative solutions 

• Stay current with industry trends, particularly in power generation, supply chain risks and adoption of new technologies. Contribute to technical articles, white papers and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen local and global technical capabilities 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

You are educated to Masters level in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical) and bring proven consulting experience in risk engineering in power generation and renewable energies. 

• Strong practical knowledge of risk assessment techniques and loss prevention methodologies, with exposure to a broad range of industrial sectors and types of site 

• Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English, able to convey technical concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels, and proven ability to manage projects successfully in a complex environment 

• If you have risk consulting or engineering experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on renewable energies, this would be an advantage 

• Experience working in a global matrix organization, demonstrating strong collaboration and team spirit, with a willingness and ability to travel regularly (primarily within Spain and occasionally internationally) 

• Good working knowledge of SQL, Excel/Access, modeling and interpreting data. Experience with Python or similar programming languages is a plus. A solid understanding of data analysis, automation, and AI tools is required, with an awareness of ethical AI usage. 

• A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential.
