Salary: Competitive

Location: Homebased, Thames Valley Area – Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hampshire.  

We have fantastic opportunity for a tenacious and experienced Trading Underwriter to join our Commercial Mid-Market, Thames Valley Trading Team. This a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a successful and experienced trading team, dealing with Brokers across the area!

This is a great job for someone who is a dynamic trader with a proven track record of trading commercial mid-market business! The role is home based, with the opportunity and expectation you will travel to see brokers and colleagues across the area and region.

A bit about the job:

You will provide an outstanding service to our customers and brokers and drive new business and/or service existing customers, build professional relationships, directly contributing to the underwriting profit and loss, trading, and service delivery goals. Relationship management is key as you will need to Influence key contacts in the marketplace through business development and customer engagement. Understanding what matters to customers and brokers to provide the right solution and deliver the best outcomes that reflect the Aviva underwriting strategy and values is also key to this role.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

·  Good underwriting knowledge in Commercial Mid-market business, with proven track record of winning quality New Business and retaining existing customers
·  Experience with applying underwriting knowledge to improve processes and procedures
·  Comfortable managing your own underwriting caseload within a regulatory environment
·  Excellent business development and customer engagement/relationship building skills, coupled with strong communication and negotiation skills
·  Have a Diploma in CII or a willingness to study for and obtain the CII qualifications
