Financial Reporting Controls Specialist – IT
Salary – national: £55,000
We have an exciting opportunity within the Finance Risk & Control Function to be part of a specialised team of financial control experts, seeking to ensure that Aviva has an effective and robust financial reporting control structure as it transitions to a leaner, more streamlined global finance function.
Aviva’s Financial Reporting Control Framework provides assurance in relation to efficiency of the control environment over Aviva’s external financial reporting. If you want to help us to build IT capability within the function and you have strong curiosity about process and control improvement, we would love to hear from you! You will be at the fore font of driving change as we move from manual to more automated controls.
A bit about the job:
The primary purpose of the role is to support scoping, testing and review activity of IT controls relating to financial reporting. The scope of controls includes both IT Application Controls (ITACs), such as system reconciliations, input controls and approval controls as well as IT Dependencies (ITDs), covering system calculations, interfaces and system generated reports. This role will also include supporting with ESG (Environmental, social, and corporate governance) non-financial reporting. You will also support the review and impact assessment of IT General Control (ITGC) issues and how they affect key automations and data sources critical to our key reporting processes. The role will provide opportunity to help identify opportunities for automation and improve upon the balance of preventative automated and detective manual controls.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to read / understand common coding language: JavaScript, Python, SQL, XML etc, as well as experience of taking ownership of risk and controls delivery, including SOx and internal risk and controls management. Ideally you will have experience in engaging with external audit and experience within Life and General Insurance, and/or Financial Services.

Ability to challenge key stakeholders to interrogate control design, enabling a robust assessment to be performed.

An excellent communicator and influencer, able to represent technical and non-technical concepts successfully in different ways to accommodate a variety of stakeholders.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to adapt between collaboration and working independently as needed.
·
Relevant industry qualification(s): CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP

Salary - national: circa £55,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
