Tools Engineer - Jira/Confluence

Position Description
· The role of the Tools Engineer within Jira and Confluence support is to be part of the team who deal with the management, maintenance, upgrading and extension of the Atlassian toolset within Aviva.
· You will be working with 13000 active users, 450 external parties and 1000 users within Aviva global (Canada, France, Singapore, Italy, Spain, Poland, Turkey) providing consultancy, custom solutions, user management, infrastructure support, and defect resolution.
· Communicate and collaborate among cross-functional teams in a multinational environment
· Ability to work in an extremely fast paced and challenging environment
· Provide standby/callout for any issues encountered outside of UK core hours.
· Look at constant ways in which the use of the Atlassian toolsets can be exploited within the Aviva group.
Technical Skills
· Strong knowledge of scripting (groovy, powershell)
· Strong knowledge of infrastructure, AD, Firewalls, AWS.
· Understanding of Agile Methodologies and their use within Aviva
· Excellent multi-tasking and strong communication skills
· Experience delivering technical training to technical teams
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
· Excellent technical documentation skills
· A broad base of technical knowledge and experience in the following technologies:
· Awareness of Atlassian product set (further training will be given)
Soft Skills
· Great interpersonal and communication skills
· Generating positive team morale and collaborative working
· Proactive and highly organised, with strong time management and planning skills. Able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm and focussed under pressure.
· Is confident in presenting on technical topics to both and IT and business audience where required.
· Experience in vendor and licence management
· Personable, approachable, highly self-motivated and driven. Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
· Ability to multi-task and stay organised in a dynamic work environment.
· Analytical and inquisitive, with excellent attention to detail.
· Ability to manage change and work with ambiguity
