Aviva Technical Claims Services have a vacancy for a Claims Specialist in the Construction, Engineering and Renewables team. The vacancy will relate primarily to the handling of renewables claims.

A bit about the job

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of technical cases to the highest technical and regulatory standards and agreed performance outcomes, whilst ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulations and standards.

Seeking new and better ways of working embracing change in technology and regulatory requirements, identify and resolve potential risks or complex issues and act as a point of escalation for more junior team members.

Acting as a technical specialist on products, systems, processes and policies, assess damages, evaluate liability and negotiate settlements in accordance with policy coverage and legal requirements.

Managing partner relationships with both internal and external customers, suppliers and other relative third parties to resolve complex claim-related matters, challenge external suppliers for decisions to progress the claim to settlement.

Support the delivery of good customer outcomes through all activities and deliverables, enabling us to act in good faith towards customers, avoid causing foreseeable harm and enable and support our customers to pursue their financial objectives.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

· 
Knowledge of the insurance industry related to commercial claims management around renewables including solar, wind with biomass being an advantage

· 
Technical claims experience is preferable, ideally in a Claims Manager or similar level role

· 
Excellent customer engagement skills is essential i.e. the ability to influence key contacts and manage external clients / brokers successfully

· 
Ability to develop professional relationships with both internal and external customers

· 
ACII certificate/relevant professional qualification or extensive, equivalent experience within commercial claims environment and excellent IT skills i.e. prior working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
