Technical Account Consultant – Financial Lines - Salary is competitive depending on experience, skills and location

Location – Home based

Aviva are currently looking for an experienced Technical Account Consultant to join our ever-growing Risk Management team. 

You will be working as a part of the Financial Lines portfolio, with specific focus on Financial Institutions, Directors & Officers, and Professional Indemnity.

This position is home based, but frequent visits to the London offices as well as UK based clients when needed is a requirement (expenses are covered for travel).

A bit about the job:

Aviva’s Technical Account Consultants get involved with businesses at the very start of their Aviva journey. They help understand the business and its risks, working with the customer to derive and manage risk that adds value to Customer and provides insight to the Underwriter.

Responsible for contributing towards risk management services across the Financial Lines portfolio, with specific focus on Financial Institutions, Directors & Officers and Professional Indemnity.

The role will provide underwriters with risk quality insight in respect of individual insureds along with risk management advice to insureds on how to increase their risk management resilience.

You will also be:

·  Providing high quality loss avoidance/risk management advice to key Financial Lines clients, underwriters and brokers (both internal and external).
·  Undertaking risk assessments of client processes, procedures, claims and complaints, including an overall assessment of clients’ risk management exposure.
·  Preparing detailed written risk reports for underwriters that meet the expected standard of the UK & International Insurance market.
·  Maintaining & developing technical knowledge & personal expertise of current developments, changes in legislation & risk management trends
·  Providing client and broker presentations, seminars and workshops along with thought leadership advice.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

·  Legally qualified as a Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales
·  Excellent presentation and writing skills to produce market leading thought leadership articles to support growth across the Financial Lines Risk Management sector. Excellent communication skills with both internal and external clients and stakeholders.
·  Ability to analyse complex information and draw out the relevant facts.
·  Knowledge of claims handling or underwriting processes and ability to translate knowledge and experience into risk improvements and actions to effectively improve risk quality.
·  Experience in the legal and insurance sectors essential, with specific focus within Financial Institutions, Directors & Officers and Professional Indemnity (including Solicitors Professional Indemnity)
