This is a great job for a highly motivated professional to have an opportunity to work with the Managing Director (MD) of the Aviva Global, Corporate & Speciality business and their leadership team.
This Specialty Lines Underwriting Strategic Performance Lead role is an exciting opportunity, reporting to Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Managing Director (MD) of the Aviva GCS business. The role holder will be responsible for providing financial, strategic and people insights to the MD. As a trusted advisor, they will use their organisational skills to enable the MD to deliver his objectives and maximise effectiveness as a member of the UK&I General Insurance Executive Committee, and leader of the Aviva UK GCS business.
A bit about the job:
You will play a critical role enabling the MD and his team to meet their objectives, discharge their regulated accountabilities, ensure timely delivery of reporting to the regulated Committee / governance committees / Boards, and is responsible for the quality, consistency, and efficiency of all deliverables. You will achieve this by attending meetings to support with actions and direction, and run initiatives as well as projects. You will work closely with the rest of GCS senior leadership team to track actions, analyse and interpret performance to make sure that customers remain at the heart, and the business remains fit for the future.
The Commercial Lines Underwriting / GCS Operations Manager acts as true strategic partner to the MD, ensuring delivery of key priorities including insight for the MD, effective Board governance and reporting, project management, communications, and management of risk and controls.
Politically agile, with a strong organisational awareness; we’re looking for someone with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and whose personal impact enables them to challenge and positively influence at all levels.
Skills & Experience Required:

Strong business acumen, coupled with excellent project management / facilitation skills
·
Good working knowledge of the UK General Insurance market – London Market / Lloyd’s / GCS experience advantageous
·
Capacity to consider, process and filter large amounts of complex information quickly and identify appropriate actions
·
Excellent written communication and presentation skills, including expert skills in MS Office packages – able to summarise complex information in to clear, concise and compelling messages
·
Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities, and work effectively on multiple initiatives

Salary Circa (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
