Are you a passionate Software Engineering Manager (.NET) with ambitions to drive the best technology and development practices among a large community of developers?

We are currently recruiting for a Software Engineering Manager (.NET) to be a part of our General Insurance (GI) Platform team. If you have a strong technical background using .Net, MS SQL and MVC/Razor Frameworks and have experience in the provision of platform as a service within cloud environments, we would love to hear from you!

A bit about the job:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a multimillion-pound investment platform that is being developed and enhanced for the future, it has a very high profile and the system supports the General Insurance (GI) business from a technology perspective.

As a .NET Software Engineering Manager, you will lead the Engineering Community as we embark on building the GI platform of the future. There will be plenty of variety in this role, as you will have exposure across the full software development lifecycle and be expected to have experience of software design. To enable you to define and implement best development practices across the community who use Agile Scrum/Kanban frameworks. You will take the lead and diagnose problems, work with the team to find solutions and implement corrective actions to ensure the successful execution of projects and deliveries, as well as supporting the critical project to service transition phase and associated early lifecycle support, including management, and reporting of defects.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

· 
Well-versed in modern development practices including Agile, continuous deployments, DevOps and either Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, with experience developing across a wide variety of programming and scripting Languages (PowerShell, Terraform, ARM or equivalent programming experience). Experience in the configuration & management of CI/CD tooling, ideally using Azure DevOps and/or Jenkins

· 
Comfortable with helping to solve problems and deal with difficulties in line with standards, process and other guidelines within Aviva, applying technical knowledge/expertise and work in a collaborative environment, to create new solutions and delivery approaches as well as reviewing coding practices for quality and standards

· 
Able to use technical skills to review estimates for accuracy delivered by Delivery team. Along with working to identify and mitigate risks related to integration, performance, and compatibility

· 
Demonstrate leadership skills with a passion for developing others through mentoring and coaching as well as directing lead engineers as we adopt new delivery approaches and standards

· 
Experience of stakeholder management including at a senior level, be able to effectively collaborate with a small Leadership team as well at times work autonomously with good problem-solving skills

Salary between national circa £50,000 and London circa £60,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
