Our Global Corporate and Specialty (GCS) is a general insurance (GI) business that provides insurance solutions for large corporate and specialty products for commercial entities. Its core product lines are Property, Casualty, Auto, Surety, and Equipment Breakdown (EBI). 

We are currently seeking top talent to join our MGA team. Reporting to the Assistant VP MGAs, you will be responsible to help steer the performance of our MGA portfolio by furthering reporting and analytics capabilities. The function will support quarterly business review meetings with our MGA partners, internal review of performance, analysis of exposure accumulation against our appetite and streamlining of our billing and coding processes. The role offers a great opportunity to get involved in various aspects of the MGA relationships and work closely with the underwriting experts within our team.

This role will start off as a work from home arrangement, gradually you will be required to work in the Aviva office at our First Canadian Place. location.

Accountabilities

·  Deliver regular insights into any trends, changes or challenges that may impact future performance and position in the market. 
·  Monitor the performance of various MGAs, segments and geographical regions and provide forward looking insights to support internal results meetings
·  Identify key trends and formulate recommendations to enable stakeholders to rapidly adapt and drive actions to inform business decisions, improve profitability and growth
·  Continually improve monitoring reports in terms of length of time to create the reports and accuracy
·  Monitor the impact of business decision including rate or underwriting changes to ensure the impact is in line with expectations.
·  Support management in preparing for quarterly business reviews, including in-depth review of performance, portfolio distribution, growth etc.
·  Collaborate with the MGAs and Aviva’s processing teams to streamline data reporting from the MGAs to Aviva’s systems
·  Maintain and improve data extraction procedure, and serve as the subject matter expert for data related questions from internal stakeholders such as claims, reserving, actuarial, reinsurance, processing

Required Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

·  2-5 years of experience in the insurance industry in data-driven roles such as Actuarial, Finance, Data Analytics having demonstrated a thorough understanding of the insurance industry
·  Strong mathematical and statistical background
·  Proficiency in programing languages such as SAS, VBA, SQL
·  Ability to distil large amounts of data into key insights and areas of opportunity.
·  Change agent skills with the ability and appetite to drive continuous improvement in cross functional processes
·  Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to listen effectively and communicate clear, concise to target audiences.
