Senior Claims Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Claims Manager to join our Financial Lines claims leadership team, in a key role with responsibility for the claims portfolio and teams specialising in Financial Institution claims, as well as supporting across Management Liability, Crime and W&I lines of business.  We are looking for someone with great experience in these business lines, who can bring technical expertise in complex claim management, as well as the ability to develop future talent and create a market leading claims proposition.  

A bit about the job:

· 
Ownership & management of large and complex claims across business lines, delivering technical excellence to achieve favourable outcomes.

· 
Developing a leading customer proposition and delivering on the Aviva values through claim service and client relationships.

· 
Working closely with underwriting, product, actuarial and risk management teams to drive business synergy, sharing claim and industry insights.

· 
Supporting the growth of the Financial Lines business, through new/renewal business propositions and helping develop insurance products to meet emerging customer needs.

· 
Leading the Financial Lines claim handlers, supervising work product, developing talent and future capabilities, and providing technical & performance oversight. 

Aviva operates a “smart working” policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office, and this role is based in London.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

· 
In-depth knowledge and extensive experience of handling complex Financial Institution, Crime and/or ML claims.

· 
Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements and risks across these business lines.

· 
Proven experience of developing strong external relationships and delivering commercial acumen to balance technical decision making with customer excellence.

· 
Experienced at handling large primary lead accounts and productively working with follow and excess layer insurers.

· 
A brilliant leader who can support talent development and drive systemic improvements to enhance the claims operation.
