Performance Development Analyst – Global Operations – London

The Team

We are responsible for calculating investment performance and analysing the drivers of returns.  We cover all asset classes and fund and client types across AI.

This involves managing the flow of a substantial amount of data from Fund Accountant and Index providers, through in-house and external systems, to produce detailed investment performance outputs used widely across the business.

The Role

We are looking for someone with a technical skillset to sit within the Performance Team and take ownership of the start-to-end production process, driving continuous improvement with the aim of full automation.   This will involve building a thorough understanding of the systems, vast amounts of data inputs, coding, and the end output, to identify and implements areas for improvement.  As such a hunger to learn, attention to detail and strong logical mind are essential.

It is an unusual opportunity for someone to combine their technological know-how with business application within an analytical department.  It will enable them to learn more about Performance Measurement and the investment industry along the way.

Responsibilities

·  Analyse and monitor production processes used by the team to identify areas of improvement
·  Implementing changes and improvements to processes and procedures to respond to the rapidly evolving investment environment
·  Construct SQL queries to help extract data directly from performance databases
·  Identify areas for automation in reporting production
·  Supporting projects as required
·  Bridging the gap between business and technology, building and maintaining strong working relationships with:
·  Performance teams
·  Offshore teams
·  Vendors and data providers
·  Project and business colleagues across the organisation

Requirements

·  Technical skills including SQL and VBA essential. Programming language useful
·  Strong experience of Systems, Processes and Controls including implementing process improvements
·  Knowledge of data governance principals with practical experience ideal
·  Basic understanding of Asset Management with experience of fund accounting data
·  Ability to communicate effectively across varying levels of technical expertise
