Quantitative Analyst – Global Solutions – London

The Role

The Quantitative Analyst will be a crucial role in supporting the design of investment solutions. The successful candidate will undertake portfolio specific analyses aiming to translate client desired outcomes into recommendations of workable investment strategy. The successful candidate will need to have strong quantitative / applied mathematics background. They will act as a trusted, credible partner for clients and consultants by building a deep knowledge of their circumstances and objectives, while providing insight on customised investment solutions. The role will operate across a range of clients and stakeholders: Aviva clients, third party insurance and pension funds; but also, directly with Portfolio Managers.

Responsibilities

· Develop tools and processes which will enable the delivery and design of bespoke investment solutions

· Bring new ideas to current approaches or challenge them to achieve excellence

· Keen to learn about new topics and aim to maintain detailed technical knowledge (e.g. new asset classes or new regulations and accounting frameworks)

· Work with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless delivery of investment solutions that span multiple assets (across liquid and illiquid assets) or teams (e.g. ESG or Risk)

· Always seek to achieve the best outcomes for clients and be open and honest in communicating the characteristics of different strategies, irrespective of commercial implications for the firm

· Create a culture of collaboration and a willingness to challenge the status quo

Requirements

· Previous experience in a similar role.

· Strong modelling background (MATLAB and/or Python)

· Good understanding of asset classes and derivatives (or interest)

· Understanding of insurance or pension environment is desirable

· Ability to present and explain complex topics with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally

· Forward looking, with ability to work to common goals without close supervision

· Preferably a degree in Mathematics or Physics

· CFA (or equivalent) desired
