Investment Strategist – Global Solutions – London

The Role

Winning third-party institutional clients, including insurance companies and pension funds, is a key component Aviva Investors’ strategy. The Insurance and Pension Solutions team designs bespoke outcome-orientated investment solutions and is a trusted, credible partner for clients and consultants. It brings together deep technical knowledge of those client’s investment objectives and constraints with Aviva Investors’ investment capabilities.

This role will be primarily focused on supporting the development of investment solutions for insurance clients.

Responsibilities

·         Developing solution propositions for institutional clients, focusing on insurance companies.

·         Building relationships with key institutional clients, working collaboratively with the Global Client Solutions team.

·         Production of market-leading thought-leadership and participation in industry events.

·         Representing Aviva Investors’ investment solutions as an investment expert, in place of portfolio managers.

·         Deepening technical knowledge of the investment constraints of institutional clients.

·         Ensure that materials (RFPs, presentations, strategy papers, etc.) produced for clients are appropriate and of high quality. Engage with the relevant teams and individuals to ensure timely delivery.

Requirements

·         Insight into, and practical experience of, the investment approach of global insurance companies.

·         An understanding of the investment constraints of institutional clients – for example, the regulatory capital regimes of insurance companies.

·         Production of thought-leadership material for institutional clients.

·         Successful track record of building effective working relationships.

·         Experience in presenting complex topics to a wide range of stakeholders.

·         Good understanding of a variety of asset classes, including real assets and derivatives.

·         CFA / Actuary / other professional qualification (or working towards these qualifications).

·         A degree in a technical or financial subject
