Job description
Position Overview
To work with and support a team of accountants to deliver financial reports for the Forensic Accounting team and Adjusters on a timely basis.
Accountabilities
- Summarizing and organizing financial documentation ranging from financial statements, invoices, bank statements, personal/corporate tax returns, etc.
- Reviewing reports and calculations, formatting of schedules/letters/reports
- Ensuring numerical and administrative accuracy of reports which may be issued in the context of legal disputes, insurance claims, fraud investigations, etc.
- Liaising with clients, claimants and legal representatives to request and/or follow-up on information required
- Communicate the results in a clear, precise and simplified manner to the claims adjuster or the claimant, adapting communication style accordingly
- Develop efficient workflows and processes to ensure timely resolution of files
Required Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- A degree in Business (Finance, Economics, Accounting & Finance) or equivalent, and an MBA would be preferable
- Working towards CPA considered an asset.
- This position demands a high level of independence, visibility and also communication. Therefore, effective communication skills are essential
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a structured and controlled framework
- Ability to manage large volumes of data and still see the “big picture”
- Highly adaptable and flexible, decisive and display excellent judgment
- Autonomous, able to manage their work in a fast paced, time restricted environment
- Professional levels of English; proficiency in French and asset
- Advanced skills in MS office
