Deployment Engineer - Salary Circa £45,000 - £55,000
We have an exciting opportunity for a Run Team Engineer who wants to multi-skill across disciplines: database administration, cloud engineering, Solutions architect, change oversight, monitoring and automation. Perhaps you are established in one of these areas who would like to cross skill in other areas.

Do you enjoy investigating Improving/tuning existing solutions, as well as exploring new technologies/patterns?

Do you also have a punctilious attention to detail and is Rule-orientated and conscientious?

A bit about the job:
You would be part of an established application team within the Life Performance, Governance and Reporting function. We have five core responsibilities: solution design oversight, change implementation, regular maintenance, automation, incident management. You would be coming in at the start of a new phase for the team, where we are looking to expand our scope and will working to bring our solutions in line our best practices and modernise, eg using more cloud native technologies.

The team acts as an architecture and implementation centre; providing advice on automation and solution design for our own platforms, but also good practices across a range of IT applications.

A requirement for this role is working on deployments outside of hours, on a scheduled basis. Aviva operates a “smart working” policy meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office, and this role is based in Sheffield or York.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

· 
A self-starter, interested to learn perhaps you're the type of person with a Home Lab and have a strong interest in cloud and web technologies, databases, automation and optimisation.

· 
Someone who has a commercial understanding of priority and can organise their time effectively alongside.

· 
Someone who can respond to production incidents with a calm and risk-based approach.

· 
Experience with database, automation, or system administration and working with an IT change framework.

· 
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to communicate technical ideas across a wide audience with confidence.

Salary Circa £45,000 - £55,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
