Data Analyst - ETL, Data Warehouse
Bristol
The Data Analyst is responsible for operating in the lowest level of detail and complexities of Aviva’s data within its ETL / Data Warehouse / BI architecture. The Data Analyst supports developments through employing advanced analysis/problem solving techniques and a highly acute attention to detail to trace through the result of rules/transformations/joins, assess data quality, and review processing issues, and support regression activity or more general data investigations through the end to end data dataflow (source to target).
You will report to the MI Development Manager
Experience
· Strong background and proven track record in in working in advanced data analytics within financial services
· Experience of using Oracle and DB2 as the underlying RDMS within BI environments.
· Strong background working on data migration projects
· Strong commercial awareness of financial services industry, products and processes
· Excellent understanding of Data Warehouse methodologies.
· Familiarity with software solution development lifecycles.
Qualifications:
· Degree educated in an IT/Maths/Statistics discipline or has an equivalent analytical qualification.
Skills:
· Well versed in use and writing of SQL
· Excellent structured analysis skills.
· Able to trace through Informatica components, including Power Centre, Power Exchange (IMS and flatfile), Data Validation Option (DVO) and Metadata Manager.
· Good verbal and written communication skills enabling effective interaction with both IT and Business stakeholders.
· Organised and self-motivated.
· Ability to assimilate technical and business information
· Ability to positively challenge existing and proposed solutions and present findings and ideas in a clear, concise way.
