Data Engineering Associate

Salary: Up to £40,000

Aviva are currently looking for a candidate who has basic understanding of Data Engineering domain and wish to learn skills around AWS/Snowflake and wider data engineering practices, to join the data analytics platform on permanent basis.

The role offers opportunities to grow in the domain and work in a diverse team looking into Data Engineering, Solution & Architecture. The individual will be surrounded with mentors to help learn the tech stack and assist with growth.

We are flexible on location you are based in, but you would be required to come in the Bristol offices at least 2-3 days per week.

A bit about the job:

As a Data Engineer you will be working with a technical lead and performing data to day tasks to support data engineering solutions development within the solutions team, where these solutions are used across platforms to deliver key projects.

Aviva has requirements for more such solutions to pick and choose from off the shelf to build complex data pipelines. Solutions span offerings around building complex data pipelines using plug and play utilities, where big data technologies on cloud offering are used to deliver key projects. You will be working within a team and will be led by a Technical Lead.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

·  Basic understanding and hands on experience with cloud technologies in AWS, EMR-FS, Glue Data Catalogue, S3, SQS, Lambda (AWS preferable), VPC/Subnet understanding, RDS.
·  Preferred experience on Big Data tools like BDM & Basic understanding of Snowflake.
·  Good knowledge on the streaming side of technology like Apache Kafka, Kinesis, and SQL databases like Dynamo DB, will be an ad-on.
·  A team player, someone who can contribute and work with the team to do hands on work.
·  Like to explore new technologies and on the lookout to find opportunities to modernize and help grow team & aligns with Aviva principles.

·  Salary : Up to £40,000 (location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
