Job description
An opportunity has arisen for a Cyber Security Analyst to join the CISO Global Cyber Security Operations (GCSO) team to provide IT security operational services to Aviva markets. GCSO provides resources, processes and technologies to identify and respond to information security/cyber threats, vulnerabilities and incidents to minimise adverse impact to Aviva, its customers and partners.
The role is part of a team of security analysts, primarily supporting Aviva’s global vulnerability management service responding to information security cyber threats.
This is an exiting time to join a dynamic team of security experts with a real passion for technology and securing Aviva’s IT estate.
An experienced and dynamic individual is required with specific experience in performing vulnerability assessments and be able to analyse the data and add threat/asset context to prioritise remediation activities across Aviva’s global estate. You will need to have a solid understanding of current infrastructure, operating system and application vulnerabilities across a wide variety of systems and need to maintain this understanding as new threats and vulnerabilities emerge.
The analyst will represent the CISO (Chief Information Security Office) department in different forums dealing with a variety of business areas as well as individuals including senior business leaders, technology specialists, and front-line staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the IT security operations for critical global enterprise systems with strong security knowledge of IT best practices, common attack types, and detection and prevention methods. Serves as a specialist in computer and network security, including the administration of security systems and consulting on general security measures.
· You will manage the day-to-day operations of the security systems by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair
· You and the team will investigate and analyse security matters, identify methods and solutions in response to security related queries
· You will provide leadership and management in order to deliver a high level of service
· You will perform troubleshooting as required, lead problem-solving efforts often involving vendors and other support personnel and/or organisations
· You will develop procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorised use and acts of abuse
· You will develop tools, procedures, and training sessions for security operations, and stakeholders across the Aviva group
· You will ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained
· You will have the enthusiasm and drive to stay current with developments in cyber security and recommends ways for Aviva to maximise value, and take advantage of new technology and techniques
· You will contribute to design, development and maintenance of security standards and controls
Skills & Experience
· Solid technical and security knowledge and experience in complex IT systems management and support
· Experience managing systems in both private and cloud hosted services (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS), and an array of operating systems to include Wintel, Midrange, Linux, Mainframe platforms
· Understanding of Cybersecurity standards and frameworks, eg: ISO 27001 and 27002, NIST, CIS, OSA, OWASP, SANS, COBIT
· Professional qualifications in computer technology
· Able to plan, organise and document complex system activities and to configure systems to be consistent with policies and procedures
· Data collection and analytics, interpretation and presentation
· Able to communicate complex technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing
· Able to establish and maintain collaboration, understanding, trust and credibility
· Strong team member skills, building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues in different disciplines and geographies
· Perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively

· Salary of £23,400 to £45,050 depending on skills, experience and qualifications
