About the Team

The Senior Reporting Actuary is a key member of the Actuarial Reporting team.

The role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of all Actuarial Reporting requirements. The role will involve direct contact on a regular basis with senior management. This role requires close liaison with peer Actuarial and Finance managers and will be a senior member of the reporting team.

You must have valid Irish, UK, or EU work rights to be considered for this role

Location: Cherrywood, Dublin 18 with hybrid working

Responsibilities:

· 
Calculation and analysis of the SII and IFRS reporting, liaising closely with the senior management of Aviva Ireland, Aviva UK and with Aviva Group

· 
Production, identification and explanation of the sources of changes in the Own Funds and Solvency Capital Requirement via an Analysis of Change

· 
Calculation and analysis of new business metrics, Stress and Scenario Testing, sensitivities, and other analysis as required

· 
Lead on key actuarial investigations and assumptions analysis throughout the year, including involvement in projects as the opportunities arise.

· 
Ensure that the reporting team has the necessary processes and controls in place and operating effectively to meet Aviva’s standards for financial management and accelerate reporting timelines.

· 
Specification and testing of required changes to the Prophet model, Data Lake and IT developments as required for existing or new business.

· 
Management of audit relationships and processes, ensuring a clean sign off.

· 
Liaising closely with internal and external partners such as Financial Reporting, UK Actuarial Modelling, Finance, Aviva UK and Aviva Group as required.

· 
Play a key role in the development and motivation of a team of actuarial professionals.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

· 
Qualified Actuary with substantial experience

· 
Extensive experience of Solvency 2 and/or of IFRS17

· 
Previous experience of analysing and reviewing actuarial reporting results

· 
Producing management level reports and presentations and effectively communicating to senior stakeholders

· 
Knowledge of the financial structure and operation of life and pensions products and in particular have a strong knowledge of the structures of unit linked, with profit and term insurance products

· 
Ability to deliver / transfer knowledge through coaching and mentoring skills

· 
Delivery focused with a flexible attitude and approach

· 
Mental agility and decision-making skills

· 
Up to date knowledge and understanding of actuarial principles and methodology, including knowledge of Prophet

· 
Confident communicator, with strong written and oral communication skills

· 
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and progress multiple deliverables

· 
Evidence of proven career track record and consistent record of achievement

· 
Experience of senior stakeholder management
