Actuarial Analyst, Commercial Insurance Pricing and Transformation

Job description
There is an excellent career opportunity on our CI Pricing Transformation team located in our Markham office. We are seeking an Actuarial Analyst/Senior Actuarial Analyst to work closely with the team to carry out a transformation of Commercial Insurance P&C pricing at Aviva Canada. To deliver the transformation plan, this individual will work collaboratively with Enterprise Analytics, Frontline Underwriting, Distribution and Enablement.
Accountabilities:
- Provide constructive support and perform analyses required throughout the life cycle of P&C pricing transformation. For example,
- Defining a detailed vision of the future P&C rating algorithm
- Ensuring the transformation plan align to Commercial department strategies
- Identify key milestones for projects and accurately forecast time required for each milestone
- Assist in technical model validations, define business constraints for predictive modeling and measure model impacts, and
- Track benefits of the implemented changes that demonstrate the success of the implemented changes.
- Strong focus on risk mitigation and building a risk-aware culture. Ensure adherence to the technical pricing standard and actuarial best practices. Be an advocate for risk management to the direct reports. Be responsible for strong documentation of processes, decisions and methodologies.
- Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders at the head office and the field. Identify the needs of our partners and tailor solutions that serve their needs and maximize value for commercial insurance.
Experience required for Senior Actuarial Analyst:
- 4+ years of Insurance Property and Casualty actuarial pricing experience
- Passed at least 5 CAS exams
- Proficient in programming, with experiences in SAS, Access, VBA a plus
- Communicate ideas/decisions clearly
- Strong mathematical and statistical background
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Experience required for Actuarial Analyst:
- Passed at least 2 CAS exams
- Prior P&C actuarial experience preferred
- Proficient in programming, with experiences in SAS, Access, VBA a plus
- Communicate ideas/decisions clearly
- Strong mathematical and statistical background
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
