Job description

Job Duties:

• Provide support to all departments and personnel within Safran HE USA, and to external customers as required by resolving questions about Safran HE designed tooling or related documentation that arise during tool use or tool transactions. Requires technical (mechanical) aptitude/knowledge and the ability to understand/interpret Safran HE's technical documentation to ensure each request is processed in the appropriate manner to close the issue.

• The health and safety of our people and environment together with the flight safety of our products must be considered as the number one priority in the execution of your job and must be considered during any modifications of equipment.

• Participates in and sometimes manages internal improvement initiatives involving tooling identified to reduce process times, remove waste, improve quality, improve flow, and/or reduce total operating cost (e.g. efficiency, availability/use).

• Determines and maintains appropriate requirements and quantities of tools for each department within the industrial operations.

• Review tooling requirements with Tech Support Engineers for maintaining compliance with Safran HE technical manuals and then initiate orders for the necessary tooling via the ERP system.

• Receives and processes customer property or consigned tools for repair or replacement.

• Receives and processes repaired or new tooling from suppliers.

• Inform the Tech Support Engineers when new or repaired tools are available to be placed in the tool station locations within industrial operations

• Assists the Tech Support Engineers in functionally validating new tools and processes during the first article process for new engines or when new repair procedures or capabilities are introduced.

• Receives and processes damaged or nonconforming tooling by performing basic repairs on the tooling immediately, or by determining to what extent the tooling needs repair for routing to the appropriate repair facility. In addition, if tooling is deemed non-repairable, then process the tooling in accordance with company procedures, and proceed in ordering replacements as necessary.

• Review with Tech Support Engineers the need for specialty equipment to meet the requirements of Safran HE's technical documentation and then initiate the orders via the ERP system.

• Maintains and updates the database in support of the calibrations department to ensure calibrated tooling is tracked in the various locations within the industrial operations.

• Maintains and updates the database for the inventory of tooling within the specified tool station locations and other equipment/building items considered as assets throughout Safran HE USA's facility.

• Maintains and updates the database in terms of expiration dates for perishable lubricants, paints, and other chemicals used in the industrial operations.

Requirements:

This position requires access to information and hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The selected candidate must be a U.S. person or must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-controlled information and hardware.

• Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from four-year College or university; or two to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals

• Strong organizational skills

• Manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously

• Intermediate Level – Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, PowerBI

• Ability to learn and use internal systems such as ERP and Documentation Control programs

• Ability to adapt Mechanical/Technical/Interpersonal skills to the unique requirements of the organization
