We’re thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Schemes and Delegated Authority Underwriter to join our team. This is a hybrid position and will require travel to one of our offices in Lancaster, Maidstone, Manchester, London or Guildford
As our Schemes and Delegated Authority Underwriter you will focus on running and managing delegated authority and scheme arrangements.
You'll participate in the Global P&C Academy accreditation, enhancing your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group. Furthermore, for pricing-based roles, Allianz Insurance offers a generous study package to enable the actuarial qualification to be obtained through the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.

Salary Information
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
As the Schemes and Delegated Authority Underwriter, your responsibilities will include:
DA and Scheme Centric Work
- Deliver technical underwriting reviews (incl. COR modelling), support broker discussions, and coordinate sign‑off with the DA & Schemes Manager.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to on board new DAs (to build products, wordings, rating approaches, MI suites, system changes and required underwriting/claims materials.
- Design and build scheme components (product builds, question sets, systems mapping, underwriting guides, protocols).
- Produce and present monthly and annual MI/monitoring packs, including ULR/COR views collaborating with Actuarial and Finance.
- Manage ongoing governance: annual reviews, audits, rate reviews, compliance tasks, and retenders.
- Act as a technical escalation point working with Distribution to implement continuous process improvements.
- Support tenders and new facilities with technical reviews, COR modelling, wordings, and protocol documentation.
- Assist Trading Teams with delivering changes to frontline underwriters and ensure central reporting remains up to date.
Essential Skills
We don't expect you to know everything from day one, but the following will enable you to hit the ground running:
- Experience in underwriting, product development or relevant technical experience
- Interpret MI and analysis effectively, using data to spot risks, opportunities and recommend solutions
- Experience with delegated authority or schemes arrangements.
- Understand underwriting appetite and governance
- Skilled in stakeholder and project management
- Clear communication skills reporting and presentation skills
- Spot risks and opportunities, recommend solutions
