Background & Purpose of the Job
Selecta is the market leader in the Philippines Ice Cream category in both In-Home and Out-of-Home formats. Within the In-Home category, Birthday is the leading Bottom-of-Pyramid brand nationwide with its iconic multi-flavor formats in affordable, magic price points. It is the 2nd biggest Take-Home brand in our Portfolio with a winning mix after its recent relaunch in 2023.
In the past 1-2 years with inflationary pressures – Filipinos have opted to downgrade to cheaper brands, or to reduce their ice cream consumption. Given this, competition has continuously been growing in the form of local and house brands. By leading the Birthday brand, you will be leading the agenda on penetration growth as well as competitive share gain in a highly dynamic category. This is great opportunity for individuals who want to get experience in crafting portfolios and campaigns for an iconic, heritage brand under Selecta.
What You’ll Do
As the Birthday Asst. Brand Manager you are responsible for leading day-to-day operations of the brand and landing winning innovations & campaigns on-time and in-full. You are the brand owner and are therefore responsible of ensuring you land its growth and profit targets by working closely with your cross-functional partners in SC, R&D, CD, and Finance.
As Birthday Asst. Brand Manager you will be responsible for the following tasks:
· Leading day-to-day brand operations such as managing the brand’s sales, portfolio and projects, budgets and campaigns.
· Evaluate and optimize the brand’s portfolio amidst the market and competitive heat, in order to optimize the brand’s mix.
· Working closely with cross-functional partners to land project and innovation networks on-time and in-full.
· Crafting end-to-end winning campaigns with agencies and media partners.
· Collaborating with CSP and CD partners to execute ATL campaigns, below the line through effective AVA principles and execution.
Key Skills
Working within the Ice Cream category requires high levels of agility, consumer love and passion for high performance. Amidst a fast-paced category like ours, it is essential for brand leads to be able to pivot plans quickly to serve our consumers and the market best. It is also essential for us to have a strong grasp of the market’s needs by continuously getting on the frontline whether it be through trade visits, media exposures, consumer FGDs and etc. Lastly, with Selecta being a part of the URIC joint venture – it is essential for its team members to embody its culture of Malasakit / One Heart One Fight spirit. This can be displayed with a strong passion for high performance when it comes to delivering results.
