JOB TITLE: World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Facilitator
JOB LOCATION: Boksburg Factory
DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain
RELOCATION TERMS: Open to SA citizens only!
MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
To capture data, analyse and generate reports. Translate data into meaningful loss analysis which will direct the plant improvement initiatives. Create and distribute analytical reports on plant performance on a regular basis. Train and coach the shop floor on accurate data recording and the translation of Plant performance reports including improvement initiatives through various WCM tools
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Act as custodian for all Plant data and produce line specific reports for continuous improvement of the Lines and plant as a whole
Create and maintain visuals to display plant data
Support and drive AM and PM Pillars, ensuring that each pillar achieves world class status Coach, train and facilitate all pillar activities
Data capture
Ensures that all production data from the capture sheets of each line are captured for every shift
Compiles the line speed/ production rate tables that are the basis of efficiency calculations, in terms of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Generates and disseminates weekly and monthly reports e.g. Weekly OEE, PQCDSMI, Factory passport, etc.
Co-ordinates the monthly and quarterly Alignment of Metrics Information System (AMIS), and is responsible for entering all data and verifying its accuracy
Ensures data integrity and security with backups and filing of paper records
Liaises with planning with respect to volumes and feedback to them on OEE
Support continuous improvement drive, World Class Manufacturing, with ad hoc data capturing and analysis
Create and maintain all plant visuals related to Plant performance
Data analysis
Ensures the correct loss tree compilation within the WCM loss structure
Responds to requests from Regional for aggregate data, including but limited to GVS loss report
Supports production in providing the daily losses required for OR meeting
Takes an active role in eliminating plant losses by producing accurate loss reports and assigning the right WCM tools to attack the losses
Will provide loss analysis on an adhoc basis to Pillars in order for them to prioritise and counter these losses
Infrastructure development
Assesses and recommends changes/ upgrades to data collection infrastructure to Plant Manager
Liaises with IT consultants/production performance software specialists to obtain cost estimates and demonstrations
Support WCM in setting up databases for various documents/templates as required
Training and Coaching
Train operators and artisans on accurate data recording
Train the shop floor on interpretation of loss reports
Ensures the elimination of Line Losses by constant training and coaching the shop floor on WCM continuous improvement tools and root cause analysis
Coach and develop teams to implement effectively the WCM AM tools linking these to the reduction of losses in the factory
Ensure that autonomous teams and teams are adhering to the overall AM Pillar Plan
Conduct WCM assessments with semi-autonomous and autonomous teams to assist them driving down Losses and Waste
Lead and facilitate WCM workshops, which focus on priority losses (liaise closely with HR, the Skills Trainer and Manufacturing Manager to integrate and synergise all training and analytical interventions)
Support the development of local AM training material, but draw on global material wherever possible
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Degree OR Diploma in Safety/ Occupational Health/ Environmental Management/ Engineering OR equivalent
1 years Continuous Improvement experience in FMCG/ Manufacturing in a Processing environment
Experience in WCM or similar continuous improvement methodology
Good Training, Coaching and Facilitation experience
Problem solving ability
Strong leadership and motivational skills
Ability to influence stakeholders at various levels
