WCM (World Class Manufacturing) Coordinator

I. Position Summary

The Site WCM (World Class Manufacturing) Coordinator reports to the WCM Supervisor and supports the execution of WCM in the factory. The coordinator partners with multiple stakeholders to deliver understanding and proper use of the Focused improvement (FI) tools to align with the execution of the site masterplan. The coordinator will sit on the FI and PM pillar and provide linkage between the pillars. The position will be the driver of the continuous improvement agenda and provide leadership to the departments and pillar leaders. The WCM coordinator plays an important role in the journey to WCM through engagement with the operators on a daily basis.

Il. Position Responsibilities (Expected Work)

1. Provide training and guidance to the AM, PM, and FI pillar teams with AM Shutdowns, Kaizen methodology, and PM pillar activities

· As a member of the PM pillar the incumbent will work with the pillar to improve the EWO process and develop a road map to ensure the pillar and process are implemented according to the agreed timeline aligned with improving site KPI's.

· As a member of the FI pillar the incumbent will learn, use, teach, and inspect the WCM tools where needed in the factory and with the PM pillar.

· Incumbent will support the AM pillar with tool understanding and application

2. Lead, participate, and coach the execution of FI tools including but not limited to Kaizens and Root cause analysis

3. Analyze loss data for accuracy and utilize the data to identify the top focused improvement opportunities.

4. Energize self and others, challenge the status quo, seek out new and better ways of operating; candidate must be positive and receptive to change; see change as a challenge and as an opportunity for themselves, as well as the facility. The candidate must seek to understand the rationale for change; Respond quickly to a change in priorities.

5. This is a 1st Shift position. However, work on all shifts will be required to ensure that the required work is completed. This may include time spent traveling, sometimes overnight or for many nights, to events at other Unilever facilities.

6. Daily responsibilities will include ordering of supplies and organizing workshops or other events.

Ill. Challenges

Covington is a priority site for WCM in North America and will lead by example through proper development and execution of the plant masterplan. Strong leadership, communication, and a bias for action are required to drive the WCM culture in the facility.

IV. Scope

The coordinator will interface with employees in each department and will partner with the front line managers and pillar leaders. The coordinator will be a member of the WCM team and work with 2 other coordinators, reporting to the WCM Supervisor managed by the WCM Manager.

V. Skills & Competencies

•Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Higher education preferred.

•1-3 years of related experience in production and continuous improvement. Mechanical aptitude preferred.

•Strong Project Leadership, Continuous Improvement, and Communication Skills

•Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Comfort with computer skills, ability to new learn applications necessary.

• Ability to gather and analyze data from loss trees and other factory information and report usable information to others

• Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret technical procedures and standards

•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project Management Skills

•Understanding of Continuous Improvement Process
