Job description
MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
Supervises warehouse team and operations (Receiving and Dispatches to production), to ensure the accurate receiving and storage of materials safely, timely, and efficiently, and that proper records are maintained.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Supervise and maintain Warehouse management system in the inbound warehouse: Real time stock receipt, Manage bin allocation, Stock control management and SAP accuracy management
Ensures all elements of efficient warehouse management systems are maintained
Maintains high stock record accuracy
Maintains daily objectives and ensures work goals are met in a timely and effective manner
Anticipates staff needs, schedules personnel, and assigns work in conjunction with WBC Tool/ Warehouse bin system
Manage timekeeper team access, monitor working hours/ shifts, approve overtime, leave etc
Promotes productivity and safety through effective training and constant feedback to employees
Scanning in of stock, ensuring that quantities are correct, and that Unilever's Management and Leadership principles are applied effectively
Ensure adherence to all Safety requirements within the Warehouse: Forklift safety committee lead
Daily housekeeping inspection: 5S and FIFO (First in first out)
Daily safety and security checking: Management or record filing and stock traceability
Ensure relevant warehouse management principles are incorporated into annual improvement projects
Ensure Warehouse management principles are applied daily: FIFO > record of all movements etc
Stock record Accuracy > 98%
Ensure material handling equipment is always maintained. Material handling equipment contract management
Ensure that stock is received in perfect condition (no bad goods – these are returned to supplier) and that no stock is short received. Ensure that stock is dispatched in perfect condition OTIF (On time in full)
Weekly cycle count management with full variance RCA (Route cause analysis)
Conduct monthly stock counts and manage and report monthly warehouse KPIs (Key performance indicators)
Responsible for monthly pallet rotation management
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Matric/ Grade 12
Warehouse National Diploma will be an advantage
3 – 5 years' Warehouse experience and proficient knowledge of Warehouse management principles is essential
Proven leadership and management experience of a large teams and multiple stakeholders
Previous implementation of SAP or similar Warehouse management system from concept to testing and deployment inclusive of monitoring and providing input, guidance and support whilst driving the initiative will be an advantage
Proficient Financial business acumen and cost management experience will be an advantage
Good project management experience
Support, OHS (Occupational, Health and Safety) and SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) regulations and standards and ensure compliance
Have excellent supervisory, coordination, organization, planning, and communication, numerical and reading skills
Must be computer literate
