WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE / FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Background & Purpose of the Job
Unilever is now recruiting for a Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator at our Independence facility, makers of Knorr, Lipton Soup Mixes and Lipton Iced Tea. Knorr is the #1 selling brand within Unilever's Food Division and we have established ourselves as the largest and most advanced dry savory manufacturing facility in the world after a recent $100 million-dollar upgrade and expansion project!

Working under the direction of Warehouse Department supervision, perform duties to include:
• Load trailers with the correct product, in the correct quantities, in a timely manner.
• Load product in a manner that will cause it to reach the customer in good condition.
• Pull product off of production line and properly stock merchandise in the warehouse.
• Rotate stock accurately by code date.
• Accurately count and receive finished and packaging material.
• Mark receivers, showing number of cases received and other information.
• Forklift experience is required
• Perform daily pre-shift forklift inspection.
• Complete and submit required paperwork thoroughly, accurately and timely.
• Achieve performance levels as set by Warehouse Department.
• Keep loading areas clean and orderly at all times and perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Work overtime as needed to complete assigned duties.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Who You Are & What You'll Do
In addition to the above duties, this position requires the following qualifications:
• Current forklift operator certification or successfully pass written and driving tests required for forklift operator certification
• Must be able to demonstrate the skills and abilities necessary to safely operate all plant lift equipment.
• Ability to accurately count and identify product and segregate orders received or needed for loading.
• Ability to perform assigned or required work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to recognize conditions or situations that would have a negative impact on customer service or facility operations and take appropriate follow-up action.
• Must be able to manually move and stack material weighing up to 55 pounds.

What You'll Need To Succeed
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Two (2) years of sit-down forklift operating experience in a manufacturing/production/warehouse environment
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be completely able and flexible to work a 12 hour night shift.
