Position Title: Legal Counsel - Legal Business Partner

Key Accountability:
· Provide advice on all aspects of Korean law to the Unilever Korea business including commercial contracts, procurement/supply chain contracts, general legal advice, labor law and effectively business partner in all aspects of communication and ways of working with the business.
· Act as liaison to company secretary for ensuring proper corporate governance including organizing and minuting board meetings and ensuring timely filing of company secretarial documents.
· Identify potential legal risk of business activities, and proactively take steps to minimize legal exposure and effectively advise the business on practical solutions.
· Ensure that the business complies with all internal policies, local regulatory and reporting requirements.
· Conduct research on all applicable laws, regulations, and business practices.
· Keep abreast of legal developments and advise on the potential impact on the business.
· Review, draft and negotiate legal documents in Korean or English including but not limited to confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts, supply contracts, leases, and service agreements.
· Prepare training decks and conduct trainings for the business in Korean for, amongst others, Legal Induction, Business Integrity, Corporate Governance, Employment Law, and Competition Law.
· Business partner in communications with the government, key negotiations, litigation activity and major projects as directed by General Counsel, Unilever International.
· Support the Regional Business Integrity team in cascading messages and administering Unilever's Code of Business Principles to ensure compliance.
· Timely turnaround in vetting of drafting legal documents and contracts. Ability to prioritize work and severity/importance of matters is crucial.
Attend external meetings or negotiations as and when required by the business or as directed by the General Counsel, Unilever International.

Experience Requirements:

Essential

- Native Korean proficiency in both verbal and written is required.

- Business level proficiency in English in both verbal and written English.

- Korean Bar qualified lawyer with between 5-7 years' experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements in Korean in a law firm or in-house setting

- Highly organized, articulate, detail oriented and hard-working

- FMCG industry knowledge is highly desired

- Strong communication, negotiation, drafting and presentation skills

- Must be able to work independently and have a high bias for action

- Good team player with an appetite for challenge

Preferred:

- Experience SAP ERP system or program

- Excellent in MS office - Excel, PPT, Word

- Any Project lead or team collaboration experience

- Proactive attitude & strategic thinking for more efficient approach

- Numerical sense to respond quickly and accurately in various situations
- People-friendly tendency
