INTRODUCTION

The Oral Care category, through its Billion Smiles Mission, strives to bring healthy teeth and beautiful smiles to 1 billion plus consumers. The category represents a profitable growth opportunity for Personal care business of Unilever and aims to step up leadership position in key D&E markets as well as expand its footprint in new emerging markets through an ambitious innovation programme across its unique and differentiated brands mainly Pepsodent and Close Up.

Unilever toothbrushes has been identified as a quick win opportunity within the Oral care business for rapid growth and will be key to definition of the future formats of Oral care.

Key Aspects of the role : 

To be the key central contact and interface between the strong Chinese Toothbrush ecosystem and Unilever Toothbrush development team. To lead & support the capability work linked to (TB design, Packaging, Specification, patents) as well as lead global projects mainly sourced from China / SEA. This will include new designs of TB’s and Packaging , decorations, component approvals for mould, machine  & assembly management. Co-ordinate with multifunctional teams (with global & regional marketing, extended R&D team (TB & CTI), Supply chain, Procurement & other associated functions. Work closely with Brand, TPLs and CTI on developing claims road map. Align with the various stakeholders in the categories (Global TB leader, VP R&D etc).

Key accountabilities :

Responsible for engaging with the Toothbrush ecosystem to capture trends on product design, component development, decorations, manufacturing technology and global consumer trends (reflected in the toothbrush city)   Responsible for global capability development projects led from China & SEA, executing the delivery network in full. Responsible for developing new technologies and designs in partnership with Titan suppliers based in China & SEA Accountable for technical input to gates (BOSCARD, Charters, Contract documents etc) and delivery OTIF. Responsible for risk management, claims and legal compliance with local & regional requirements. Responsible for stake holder management in relation to projects (TB LT, R&D VP, BU LT etc) Responsible for ensuring handover of specification & practical know –how to receiving regions/ countries and to supply chain. VIP project delivery for technically new spaces globally.

Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:

1)     Working knowledge of polymer material science & processing

2)     Working knowledge on moulding and basic decoration.

3)    Experience in consumer goods industry / devices would be an advantage.

4)     English communication & presentation skills to interface internally and externally esp. members, Material suppliers & Manufacturers in different part of the world.

5)     Flexibility & Agility to manage evolving landscape, given the major growth ambition in a short time frame.

Qualifications – Engineering graduate or equivalent.
