The purpose of this position is to lead the Maintenance Contractors, and support maintenance roles such as IE Supervisor, MMA Supervisor and Multicraft Supervisor in the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of production and non-production equipment at the plant. When needed, this role will provide support, either in-person or remotely, across all shifts in a 24hr/7day operation.
The position will oversee the shift safety, quality, production, and people development / management of the site’s bar soap manufacturing department to achieve continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
· You’re a born leader: You will lead several dozen maintenance contractors as a trusted guide in managing repairs, time- and condition-based maintenance, maintenance capital projects, and other routine and non-routine activities they perform.
· You’re a teacher: You will be a teacher of the contractor to implement and observe the plant’s Safety/Quality rules and guidelines, as well as following the regulatory & governmental maintenance programs. As a coordinator and focal point to planning & scheduling, ensure contractor maintenance activities be reliable that delivers a better place to work. This position will participate and lead in equipment breakdown and root cause analyses, implement countermeasures and delivery sustainability.
· You’re a culture & change champion : As a culture and change champion for the maintenance organization, you will leverage your experience to influence others to deliver excellence and reliability while keeping safety and quality at the forefront.
· You’re a strategy guru: You will work closely with key members of the site Maintenance Management team to analyze the maintenance statistics, identify trends and develop plans to transform the maintenance culture. As a maintenance leader, you will facilitate improvements through the partnership with the operations team, and, foster a peer-to-peer reliability culture throughout the factory. You will lead all contractors during repairs and planned maintenance for all facilities and production related equipment. You will utilize tools such as Emergency Work Orders, 5W-1H, RCA, Planned and Predictive Maintenance, and non-routine task management.
Other responsibilities:
· Ensure employees and contractors are following Unilever safety, quality, hygienic and environmental standards in maintenance and repair of equipment.
· Plans, schedules, resources and executes maintenance assignments for all contractors.
· Resolves technical problems in packing, processing, warehousing, utilities and facilities.
· Identify reliability improvement and cost savings opportunities.
· Perform RCA, JSA and QIR, and, execute counter measures to improve safety, quality and OEE.
· Manage the CMMS for contractor activities (WO, EWO, Planning, Scheduling, close WO etc).
· Manage of the PO process (quotation, create the PO, invoices, follow up).
· Manages predictive and preventative technologies and programs.
· Oversees the design of equipment upgrades and improvements.
· Manages the maintenance contractors working at the facility.
· Reviews maintenance requisitions and other work requests for feasibility or possible difficulty, improvement, or simplification; approve and assign priorities and assignments.
· Provide directions and technical assistant to hourly employees. Demonstrate strong leadership. Hold employees accountable and drive department initiatives to deliver desired results in professional manner.
· Manage day to day activities for the Maintenance contractors and provide timely feedback on actions assigned during shift meeting.
· Work cross functionally with other departments to support department initiatives.
· Leads Maintenance projects with a contractors to drive factory reliability including project scope and full implementation.
· Lead troubleshooting activities related to equipment failures, quality problems or environmental exceedances.
· Coach and counsel employees on job performance and teamwork.
· Educate employees in Unilever business goals and priorities and lead change activities.
· Assists in the development of plant capital expenditures and repairs budgets and maintains expenditures within authorized budgets.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
· 4 year degree in either an Engineering discipline or a strong technical background.
· 3- 5 years of experience managing contractors or teams. (military or prior work experience)
· Ability to adapt to change and communicate clearly and effectively across all tiers of organization.
· Ability to succeed in a very fast-paced production environment.
· Experience in managing contractors - people, guiding them and holding them accountable, while harnessing a culture of continuous improvement in our manufacturing practices.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $83,100 - $124,700. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
