ABOUT THE ROLE
The Services Information team deliver technical solutions to support the need for Information Delivery to the ETS Service Operations, in order that they can monitor their operational performance as well as their agreed metrics and KPIs. They provide the tools to allow the Reporting Business Partners to challenge and hold accountable the Service Operations for their delivery of service via the production and monitoring of KPIs. Information is delivered via bespoke dashboards, called Business Excellence Reporting (BER), which currently use SQL, Silverlight, and Tableau as the core technologies, and a number of other reporting mechanisms, including bespoke Excel and PowerPoint reporting packs.
The key role for the analyst is to proactively develop a strong relationship with both the Reporting and Information teams, and key ETS stakeholders to improve and support existing solutions, and deliver new solutions based on agreed requirements. The analyst will be required to learn and implement solutions in new technologies as they are rolled out (e.g. Salesforce).
The analyst must be capable of independently implementing and supporting technical solutions.

The SQL & Reporting Analyst will help identify and define the solutions that maximize the value delivered by Service Performance to its stakeholders by:
• Identifying change needs
• Assessing the impact of the change
• Capturing and documenting requirements and then ensuring that those requirements are understood.
• Delivering the implementation of approved solutions – this could be by directly acting as technical lead/implementer, or by managing the delivery utilising team technical resources.
The analyst will have the technical ability to implement and support solutions, primarily using SQL, and frontend reporting technologies such as Tableau and Salesforce.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify and propose new solutions and improvements to the Service Performance tooling solutions, based on requirements from key stakeholders. Prioritise delivery based on business requirements and effort/cost value.
• Manage the end-to-end delivery of approved new solution requirements, from requirements to technical delivery.
• Identify areas within the reporting cyclical process that are not working as expected or can be improved, proposing enhancements to key stakeholders and helping drive delivery through the implementation of agreed Changes.
• Identify areas within the supporting BER technologies that are not working as expected or can be improved to better assist the reporting process, to key stakeholders and helping drive delivery through the implementation of agreed Changes.
• Deliver technical requirements and specifications to the Information Team based on the translation of customer (Reporting BPs and service operations) requirements.
• Act as a first, basic approval gate between the Reporting BPs and the Information Team, tempering requirements where necessary and identifying alternative approaches and solutions.
• Be capable of technically delivering solutions individually is requirement.
• Be capable of technically supporting solutions in BAU.
• Own the process for issue resolution, ensuring that the queue is monitored, and OLAs/SLAs are achieved.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• SQL Server 2008 onwards (T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Indexes)
• Proficient at writing queries
• Experience in designing and maintaining data interfaces to integrate with source systems
• Experience with TFS and release management
• Experience with SSIS
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Attention to detail and ability to QA own and other team member's work
• Programming experience (Debugging, Troubleshooting)
• Strong communication skills with genuine team spirit
• Curiosity and drive to continuously improve and learn
• Eager to learn new technologies (e.g. Tableau, Salesforce)
• Good organisational and time management skills
