Job description

Role Title: Shift Craft Engineer

Location: Leeds

Shift: Continental Shift Pattern (2 days on, 2 nights on, 4 days off)

Reporting to: Asset Care Leader (ACR)

Salary: £25 - 26k depending on experience, plus 50% shift allowance

Overview :

Here at Unilever Leeds, we are proud to say we are the largest deodorants factory in Europe, producing hundreds of roll on and aerosol items a minute across household brands like Dove, Lynx and Sure. To support this large operation we're looking for talented, passionate, highly-motivated engineers with a Zero Loss Mind-set to join the team.

Reporting to the Asset Care Leader, this key role forms part of a team who are individually and collectively responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the packing line equipment, ensuring products are available on the shelves, when our consumers want them – exceeding expectations with superior standards of quality.

Role Summary:

The primary focus of the Shift Craft role will be in the following key areas:

· Carry out prioritised engineering work list (improvement tags etc)

· Complete engineering work requests

· Program lead for all maintenance activities

· Drive World Class Manufacturing (WCM) with a Zero Loss Mind-set

· Act as mentor and coach to the wider team

· Effective communication across the factory teams

· Work with the team to improve line efficiency

Key requirements :

The key measure of success in this role is the successful achievement of performance targets (KPIs), amongst which are:

· Safety, Quality and equipment reliability

· Professional maintenance schedule adherence and development

· Support line operation and changeover activities

Preferred experience:

· Minimum NVQ Level 3 BTEC engineering or equivalent, preferably additional qualification at HNC level

· Dual skilled engineering experience, or working towards being dual skilled, preferably with an electrical bias

· Experience in supporting a maintenance programme

· Previous use of loss analysis and continuous improvement methodology

Desired experience :

· Understanding of machinery packing interfaces

· Maintenance or Project Engineering in a FMCG environment

· Schubert Pick & Place experience

· Packing line experience
