Role: Skin Care Claim/formulation Technologist

Function: R&D - Skin Care

Reports to: AHC Skin Care Manager

Scope:   Global & Cluster Design

Location: Shanghai

Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job

As one of UL skin care global R&D centre, we work very closely with AHC brand and product development team in Korea, support & land relevant innovations into China

You will act as both Global and China Cluster – working in an agile environment with multiple teams. You will have a mix of project coordinator and formulation design, claim development work – with opportunity to focus on the areas you are passionate about.

Main Accountabilities

The key working scope will be:

·  Good knowledge in cosmetic ingredients/actives, know how to pitch a market trendy cosmetic product, at least 3 years in cosmetic industry is a must. Experiences in manufacturing and quality is a plus.
·  Design, manage, co-ordinate and drive all formulation/process/claim work plan to support the innovation projects mainly cooperate with global ODMs
·  Develop strong formulations with trendy ingredients/technologies that can help deliver “social hot product”.
·  Responsible to roll out UL BB technologies into AHC portfolio
·  Responsible for AHC innovation products claim draft and development as well as demo development
·  Establish/create AHC formulation banks (deep dive on AHC current formulation technologies or deep dive on market trendy formulation technologies and make them as knowledge bank to accelerate future innovations

Key Skills

·  Education degree in chemistry or biochemistry or related science.
·  Knowledges of cosmetic formulation design and manufacturing.
·  Creative and passionate to help Brand team to generate strong and innovative claim stories/selling deck.
·  A creative, logical and analytical mind to generate innovative design solutions to technical design problems.
·  Ability to respond quickly to change in priorities
·  Good communication skills. Able to communicate complex topics to people at all levels of the business, across different functions.
·  Good spoken and written English

Relevant Experience

·  More than 3 years experience in formulation design/claims (for 1C position)
·  Preferred if with local product launch experience
