Job description
Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job
· Personal care is a big, growing, complex and highly competitive category in Unilever business, there is high ambition for UL to develop this category in new compass org.
· UL own many competitive brands such as Dove, Lux, Clear, Vaseline etc with leading business performance in key markets globally and in North Asia.
· The role is to provide consumer technical insights and translation of the same into product design, claims (which is the product promise) and demos to maximize the impact of technology opportunity for the business, also to lead the planning and execution of the technical claims programme for a portfolio of projects using a range of tools to maximise the product story, in order to bring innovation to life for consumers, creating the maximum amount of news from our science and innovation.
Main Accountabilities
· Expertise in understanding local Chinese consumer needs to deliver insights into upstream projects
· Deliver qualitative, quantitative and sensory consumer research for innovation projects (design , brief agencies , analyse & report , make recommendations )
· Support in the development and execution of Strategic understanding plans that will cover appropriate Consumer testing program to support Category Design projects for Personal care programs
· Analyse consumer test data using a multi-faced statistical approach, drawing out big and relevant consumer insights, trends, etc.
· Develop novel methodologies or revise existing methods to support claims.
· Define the claims template, brief and work plan. Must be able to work in teams [strong team alignment] because there will be a lot of interaction and consultation with project team members and regional teams for approval of claims work plan with TPM, CTI, Legal, RA, and Brand
· Translate claims into demonstrations that are consumer relevant and drive innovation understanding with consumer, customer, PR / Advertising agencies.
· Plans and execute technical and experimental tests with experts, or monitor test being conducted by other functions
· Review evaluates and /or summarizes technical and consumer data to generate claims
· Have a good understanding of the category, brands, competitive environment and technology to develop robust strategies to claims and defend / attack challenges
· Analyse product competitive environment to identify possible competitive challenge opportunities

Key Skills
· Experience in Claim, Consumer & Sensory Sciences area in FMCG
· Consumer testing & sensory testing techniques
· Statistical knowledge & good data process capability
· A “Can do” attitude that does whatever it takes to get the job done.
· Good communication skills & proven ability to interact across a range of functions & leadership groups
· Dealing with people from multicultural backgrounds.
· Ability to work independently with Cross-functional team members
· -Ability to interpret complex data, from multiple sources, for concise, clear insights/conclusions and communication to a variety of audiences.
· -Experimental design, familiarity with statistical tools and statistical interpretation of Good data analysis skills
· Excellent Digital acumen
Relevant Experience
· Education ideally masters degree in psychology, nutrition science, sensory science, market research, biology science, statistics , chemistry, any of the Physical Sciences, Marketing or Business.
· 2-3 years experience and substantial track record in a project management and sensory/consumer research.
· Sensory and Consumer understanding knowledge: mastering skills in the use of principles, concepts and techniques for sensory evaluation & consumer testing (qual and quant).
