POSITION SUMMARY:

Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be the strategic leader of the Unilever / CANOE region and operating plan. This can be based out of: Richmond, VA - Charlotte, NC or Chicago, IL Area. The RSM is responsible for building customer relationships and driving the Unilever growth agenda. RSM must be able to develop and articulate a strategic, market development business plan, aligned with Unilever and customer growth and financial objectives.

Manage $100MM NSV, Trade Spend, and share growth on all brands within Region.

· 
Deliver operational objectives: trade spend, direct customer contribution, net in pocket, sales contribution margin, deduction levels, and indirects.

· 
Lead dedicated broker partners, delivering the individual and collective success required of the region.

· 
Identify trade spend efficiencies, opportunities and risks.

· 
Develop channel, customer and category specific trade plans that achieve growth targets.

· 
Review plans with Business Development Managers (BDM's) and Channel Development Managers (CDM's) to insure integrity and risks are reflected.

· 
Identify opportunities and raise through the proper channels.

· 
Coordinate promotion and new item activities with Division, Sector and headquarters.

· 
Communicate all customer, market, and channel activities, opportunities, and risks.

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:

· 
Abilities to present and sell ideas and techniques to all Unilever personnel that are potentially new ways of achieving profitable sales growth and NIP targets

· 
Willing to act and lead within the Team and East Sector groups. Must establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and peers.

· 
Skilled in verbal & written communications to work with our broker partners, Business Development Managers (BDM's), Channel Development Managers (CDM's), Category Management, Trade Marketing Managers (TMM's), and headquarter personnel.

· 
Minimum 3 - 5 years of related Sales, Category Management, and Trade Marketing experience.

· 
4 year Bachelor's Degree is required.
