ROLE PROFILE
Role: R&D Technologist - Processing Beauty & Wellbeing/美容与健康产品工艺研发专员
Function: Research and Development
Reports to: Process Development Manager
Scope: China BW Business Group
Location: Shanghai, China
Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job
· Process Development to enable launch and roll-out of innovations for Beauty and Wellbeing products (hair care and skin care.)
· Driving benefit-driven processing technology, unlocking opportunities for consumer and planet through supply chain.
· Process design to enable increased capability, flexibility and efficiency in factory ‘making’ and ‘filling’ areas.
· Consistent effective approaches to specifications, recommendations, technology transfer, trials, pilot plant design and project execution
· Programme management in functional excellence in terms of skills, facilities and practices
· Key interface to R&D functional teams and partners (Supply Chain Technology and factory)
Main Accountabilities
· Deliver manufacturing process design to support beauty and wellbeing projects on time in full
· Plan, design and execute pilot plant trials.
· Use Design of Experiments, statistics and data analysis to create better product understanding and improve scale up between pilot and factory.
· Competent in application of best practices in technology delivery and transfer (Early Product Management, Process Specifications, Process Validation, Unilever Sustainable Living Plan)
· Supervision and reporting of factory trials such as Main Plant Trials.
· Monitor Process Engineering field for improvements in designs, new technologies, training programmes etc.
· Support Supply Chain strategic work and operations, e.g. driving process optimization for batch cycle time reduction and next generation manufacturing technology
· Drive process led innovations to unlock new product opportunities
· Align with R&D digital transformation agenda to build digital processing skills.
