QA Lab Internship – Summer 2020 – Simcoe, ON

This is a 4-month internship based out of our ice cream factory in Simcoe, Ontario (175 Union St, Simcoe, ON N3Y 2B1) . You must be able to work full time from May 18, 2020 - Aug 30, 2020.

Background & Purpose of the Job

The 2020 Summer Internship program introduces students to Unilever through a challenging and rewarding experience, which offers you the opportunity to contribute to business goals. As an intern, you are assigned a key business project to fully own for the duration of the summer

Key responsibilities for the role are:

Receiving and analysis of raw dairy ingredients.

·
Analytical testing of ice cream & water ice mixes, rework and finished product.

·
Microbiology testing of finished product, raw materials and in process samples using 3M petri-film.

·
Statistical analysis of production data resulting from on-line quality testing.

·
In-production checks and sampling on processes and finished products.

·
Other miscellaneous duties include holding product for testing, checking releases, swabbing equipment for bacterial evaluation and temperature studies on systems.

What You'll Need to Succeed

·
Currently pursuing Microbiological, Food Science, General Science, or Chemical Engineering degree with a demonstrated interest

·
Will be in your third or fourth year of University

·
Ability to work at our Simcoe, ON manufacturing facility

·
The successful candidate will possess strong communication and analytical skills.

·
Computer proficiency in Windows XP, Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel
