People Support Services
People Support Services underpin everything Employee Services – Technology does, it is accountable for the operation and continuous improvement of end user support of the services delivered by Employee Services Technology. The aim of the People Support Services team is deliver a connected support model, seemlessly driving up user experience for our people .
People Support Services – Demand & Capability Delivery Manager
The – Demand & Capability Delivery Manager is responsible the end to end delivery of the full portfolio projects covering onboarding of new capabilities into People Support Services and the implementation of enhancements to the service.
The role will be responsible the definition, implementation and management of the onboarding and project delivery process across PSS, ensuring alignment with broader Unilever GPMO processes.
The role is responsible for managing the full portfolio of projects, including demand delivery resourcing and financial forecasting, tracking and where appropriate cross charging. The role is supported by an overarching PMO demand management team and process.
The role will be responsible for the full lifecycle of projects from inception to delivery including Design, build, test, release to production and post go-live support.
The scope of the role includes delivery predominantly into the following technologies: BMC Remedy, Salesforce, BMC Atrium as well as specific technology to support channels such as webchat from BoldChat.
The role holder will work closely with the relevant operations managers to ensure that the new capabilities are designed in line with the service model and transitioned into service without service impact.
The role work closely with the service architect and solution lead to ensure that new capabilities are delivered in accordance with the technology and solution standards and aligned to the technology roadmap agreed with CTO.
The holder will need to work closely with the Portfolio team to ensure that new capabilities delivered align with the current process standards and model.
Work autonomously with clear direction and within defined area of responsibility
Influence peers, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of the portfolio.
Operate in a complex IT environment and deliver into a highly complex, integrated and interdependent technical landscape.
Communicate fluently orally and in writing and be able to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Plan, schedule and monitor work activities in order to meet time and quality targets. Absorb rapidly new technical information and apply it effectively.
Have a good appreciation of wider field of information systems and customer service, its use in relevant employment areas and how it relates to the business activities of the employer or client.
Proactively build partnerships with business functions and stakeholders to understand business imperatives and drivers, and subsequently shape a roadmap that deliver value and growth opportunities through relevant application of technology and process.
Plan and coordinate a portfolio of activities to ensure alignment with Compass strategy and convergence with relevant Capability / Service strategies
Review and assess BOSCARDs and Charters as required.
Manage the demand into the Funnel by ensuring alignment with Compass Strategy, and providing prioritisation information to Governance Groups.
Track all portfolio activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders, as appropriate, and manages stakeholder expectations.
Accountabilities
The role will manage a team of four internal resources plus contractor project managers as required and will be accountable for the following:
The ongoing management of a cross platform delivery process for the delivery of new capabilities onto People Support Platform
The management of a 1 - 2 year portfolio with the delivery of an estimated 20 and 40 small to medium sized projects per year:
Ensuring all project delivered through the portfolio are done so in line with best practice project management discipline and GPMO processes
Reporting directly at the portfolio level and through PMs at the programme level
The management of AD providers to deliver the above capabilities, ensuring Unilever gets the best price for the delivery of new capabilities
The co-ordination management and execution of a release process for deploying into the environments
The financial management and charging model for the delivery of project activity
Ensuring all projects are robustly tested using a standardised and repeatable test process
Ensuring all projects follow the application transition to service processes as well as ensuring technical IT change management processes are followed
Ensuring project delivered by this team are done so on time and in agreed budgets
The management and where necessary timely escalation of cross PSS services risks and issues which are escalated from projects in the portfolio
