JOB SUMMARY
The European Skin Care Cluster Design Team is looking for an exceptional Formulation and Processing Technologist to join our innovation team to contribute to the success of our global and local brands. This is an exciting chance for a job designed under the hybrid approach, which offers individuals the opportunity to work with product development in a more holistic end-to-end approach.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
· carry out a holistic end-to-end product design role, working in all aspects of product development, from formulation design to scale up for manufacturing.
· work with the Brand and Category design teams to develop and land 70s innovations and new technologies and formats to the cluster.
· design and implement new projects for 20 and 10 innovations, including work with 3 rd parties under the new Flash approach.
· opportunity to lead projects as a Cluster Design Project Leader, extending the end-to-end experience to incorporate the development and delivery of the product story and claims.
· deliver 5S and Blue Funnel formulation activities

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

Main Accountabilities:
· Formulation development and recommendation for a wide range of products and formats. Development involves formulation proposal, design and evaluate experiments for validation and report as well as scale up and adapt bench-scale processes to pilot and manufacturing scale.
· Understand risks and manage & mitigate those as appropriate
· Work closely with other functions, such as marketing and supply chain, to create, develop and deliver new products and innovations
· Work and communicate effectively with different departments and functions to deliver against the project network timings and identify and manage risks.
· Write formulation and process specifications and implement processes at Unilever and third party manufacturing facilities. Design and execute trial proposals for manufacturing trials.
· Provide leadership for technical aspects of project development (TPL), including project management activities, holding others accountable, ensure project delivery on agreed technical targets and support decision making process for product development related matters.
· Work closely with other functions (marketing, CCBTs, R&D Brand Design teams) to develop the product stories and claim support, ensuring strong consumer relevance and engagement

KEY REQUIREMENTS
· At least 3 years relevant experience in formulation and or processing development.
· Skilled and comfortable working in a digital environment
· A creative, logical and analytical mind to generate innovative design solutions to technical design problems.
· Ability to respond quickly to change in priorities
· You will need to be enthusiastic and self-motivated with good verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate complex engineering and design principles to people at all levels of the business, across different functions.
