Job description
EXPECTED WORK
Overall:
Establish the procurement capability for Unilever ice cream business, support leading end to end procurement activities, including:
Portfolio Management:
· As a member of IC BU procurement team, support the development and lead the implementation of procurement strategy in a diverse and complex portfolio. Deep understanding of material value chains to unbundle and optimize delivered costs.
· Lead ice cream ingredients resilience plan and localization strategy.
· Delivering of financial targets via excellent market understanding, strategy implementations and negotiation skills.
· Implement global negotiation results and drive quick alternative supplier development when needed to maximize value and increase resilience.
· Ensure compliance of Responsible Sourcing Policy, Contracting, Quality and service in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
· Compliance of materials with Unilever specifications, through approvals granted by R&D teams.
· Continuously scans the market to benchmark Unilever’s performance vs. competition.
· Support in driving the core procurement agenda on competitive buying, savings, innovation, quality, service, and sustainability.
Supplier Management:
· Lead supplier relationships and understand their capabilities to develop long term supplier strategies and partnerships that help deliver our short-, mid- and long-term business objectives. And ensure Unilever gets top priority in service, quality, cash, and cost of materials
· Measure and manage overall performance of suppliers while leading several strategic relationships
· Manage contracting discussions with the suppliers, including RFQ, negotiations, compliances, etc.
· Execute legal contracts with suppliers in the form of Unilever Purchase Agreement and Commercial Terms Contract (and where required, also Special Terms Contracts)
· Manage ice cream collaborative manufacturers and CM projects for IC finished goods buying.
Business engagement:
· Work closely with Business Groups & Business Units to identify key initiatives, its objectives and deliverables and drive the agenda through supplier partnerships.
· Provide support to Business Groups & Business Units for projects run by them on rolling out innovation, any product change/ formulation change, change in supply chain strategy/ sourcing unit relocation, processing configurations, demand forecast change, etc.
· Manage supplies at the time of any failure on the ground (crisis management) to keep SUs running always, lead and manage effective on time communication/ updates to stakeholders
· Team & cross functional collaboration: Lead strategic projects in the portfolio, through cross functional teams including BG/BU, R&D, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, Procurement, etc.
Experience required:
· Bachelor’s degree or above.
· At least 2 years experience in procurement or SC
· Previous experience in FMCG / Food / Ice Cream, or experience in commercial function or consultancy, will be a plus. Ability to learn quickly a must.
Key Skills:
· Outstanding communication skills, ability to engage and influence others internally and externally, good negotiation skill will be a plus.
· Result and solution oriented, be able to solve (unexpected) problems (at short notice).
· Logical thinking and data sensitive, analytics knowledge will be a plus.
· Fluent in English and Chinese.
