About the role

Unilever Prestige is standalone premium personal care business unit for Unilever Currently there are 6 brands in Unilever Prestige Portfolio across Skin Care, Hair Care and Colour Cosmetics. These brands are Dermalogica, Murad, Kate Somerville, REN Skincare, Living Proof and Hourglass.

As the division is unique to Unilever and the portfolio is extremely diversified, it is crucial for Unilever Prestige to develop strong overall strategy to guide the future of the division as well as build cross-brand portfolio strategy to drive differentiated positioning across brands in term of consumer segment, channel and markets.

Unilever Prestige - Strategy and M&A Manager will be responsible for leading Unilever Prestige strategy and leading new M&A pipeline. This role reports to Strategy Director of Unilever Prestige.


Key Responsibilities

· Lead M&A pipeline and continue to find desirable M&A targets under Prestige strategy.
· Identify new potential acquisition target, deep dive and research the brand, land the acquisition where feasible. Normally project cycle would be 1 - 2 years.
· Produce Target Scouting work and potential target analysis
· Coordinate Prestige Leadership Team Meeting (from agenda design, content preparation to action follow up)
· Develop cross brand portfolio architecture for Unilever Prestige – provide clarity for the business regarding how to differentiate our brands in term of consumer segment, channels and markets.
· Management of Prestige central budget and T&E budget
· Co-work with Prestige Strategy Director on strategic presentations (internal, Investors and Media)
· Support Prestige Strategy Director on Category Strategy Process for Unilever Prestige division to guide the strategic direction for the next 5 years.
· Support commercial Due Diligence process for M&A targets
· Support organization change and communication development for Unilever Prestige

You should have

· Strategic thinking. Experience from Corporate Strategy, Strategic Consulting or Business Ownership positions.
· Needs to be able to use strong business acumen to assess the key questions for a potential acquisition target and develop appropriate methodology.
· Strong Business acumen. Familiar with financial reporting and P&L.
· The role is characterised by extreme high change nature of the job as M&A is an evolving process. Need to keep looking for new brands, new spaces with new methodology.
· Knowledge on beauty industry would be a plus
· Expert user on Powerpoint / Excel. Familiar with Powerpoint design and Excel functions (such as Pivot Tables)
· Experience on multiple stakeholder management.
· Passion to work in entrepreneurship environment.

Additional information

Mainly office based. Occasional travel would be required as the role progresses. Flexibility regarding out of hours working is required as and when necessary due to the nature of the role.
