The role
This job is a key role in the Management Team of the Factory in Rotterdam. Sourcing Unit Nassaukade produces margarine and peanutbutter. SU Nassaukade produces margarine for the Netherlands and 19 other countries in Europe.
The site is one of the largest sites within the Unilever Spreads Category and covers a large portfolio and many innovations. The Planning & Customer Sourcing Manager will be a part of the site management team and will be a key player to design and professionalize the supply chain function on the site. Focus is on flexibility, responsiveness and customer service, and on delivering the site- and category supply chain performance targets. Main part of this role is to manage a planning team to maximize the level of customer service (OTIF deliveries of FG) and optimization of inventory and cost levels in the network. Creation of short- to long-term production plans in line with available resources and capacities. Resolving imbalances between demand, capacities and resources through continuous improvement projects. As the planning manager you are part of the European planning team and play pivotal role in the network, in harmonizing processes and coaching planners. On top, you are main point of contact for planning towards various disciplines of the factory; material team and logistics.
Responsibilities :
· Overseeing transformation of the medium-term sales plan into mid- and short-term production and delivery schedules - able to do planning in case of required backup –
· Daily cooperation with customers (MSOs mainly Benefra and DACH), responding to sales forecast and orders
· Capacity Planning (RCCP) for the lines of the site, as well as the allocated lines of the PTG:
· Monitoring of resources: line capacities based on available labour, packaging and raw materials; resolving any shortages in both short- and long-term
· Volume and inventory forecasting (controlled bottom up inventory profiling)
· Optimise balance of service – inventory -costs
· Reduction of production waste and obsoletes by production plan optimization including run strategy
· Involvement in implementation process of innovations, promotions in collaboration with T&I, MSO, Quality, Production and Material Planning Team
· Ensuring material deliveries in coordination with the planning hub, material suppliers and the logistics organization; End responsible for all inbound, outbound and on-site transport, on/off site warehousing
· Continuous improvement projects in planning and logistics on further process development including more mid to longer term strategic project work
· Keeping high motivation of Planning Team
· Planning representative in factory management board meetings
· Communication of planning updates to wider SU team and collaboration with various roles in SU
Experience
Master degree level or equivalent preferred: business related studies, Supply Chain Management
At least 3 years' experience in supply chain; planning & production background preferred
Skills
Good leadership skills and experience
Very good communication skills in virtual teams
Proven ability in developing relationships with internal/external customers and suppliers.
Team player
Experience in SAP (S1P, APO) and all MS office applications (Excel, word, etc)
Analytical skills are a must
Verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
Stress resistance
Very good coordination skills and project management skills to ensure meeting deadlines
Competence for action and decision-making, independent and self-responsible working methods
