About the opportunity

We are currently seeking a Master Production Scheduling & Packaging Material Planner for a immediate start on 12-month contract at our North Rocks laundry Factory.

The MPS & Materials Planner role is an exciting hybrid role that contributes to business performance by balancing customer service, inventory levels and supplier costs within the portfolio of responsibility

Key accountabilities

Master Production Planning:

• Create medium to long term production plan

• Manage and balance production capacity with factory and regional teams.

• Work closely with the factory planning and operation teams in order to ensure there is sufficient stock for customers whilst holding appropriate amount of inventory.

• Work with material planners for forecasting for raw material suppliers

• Project management for innovations for the Supply Chain activities within the project timelines.

• Identify constraints and highlight risks and develop contingencies to ensure successful launch of innovations OTIF.

• Deliver all KPIs - Customer Service, Inventory and Business Waste

• Drive reduction in business waste through early action planning for proposed deletes, actively driving category teams to clear slow, expiring and obsolete stock. Work with finance and category/customer teams to develop clearance plans for stock at risk.

• Regularly review and maintain stock levels to reduce inventory on hand

Materials Planning:

• Schedule packaging materials in accordance with production plans, ensuring deliveries meet packing deadlines

• Balance the requirements of customer service, inventory and supplier costs to delivery agreed targets

• React quickly to changes in actual sales, sales forecast and supplier delivery dates.

• Highlight risks and develop contingencies to ensure production plan and customer service levels are maintained

• Coordinate supply chain activities related to new products launch and deletion; identify constraints and highlighting potential risks

• Control of material stock levels to within budget targets, ensuring minimal write-offs are managed with minimal waste

• Review and challenge, through analysis, ordering assumptions (MOQ, lead-times, inventory levels)

• Build strong relationships with Factory, Production Planners, Procurement, Warehouse personnel, suppliers and customers. Leverage these relationships to improve the quality and robustness of supply plans and assist in business decisions

• Continually search for opportunities to improve reliability and responsiveness of your section of the supply chain

• Maintain the data integrity of the material planning systems.

Skills & experience

• 2-3 years in Supply Chain planning is advantageous as is experience with SAP/ERP

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science or Commerce preferred

• Ability to make fact based decisions.

• Commitment to follow through with a high level of accountability

• Willing to work in a high-performance group and ability to adjust to a constant changing environment

• Strong communication skills

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a team

• Strong Problem Solving and Analysis

• Ability to build relationships with Factory Operations team, Warehouse personnel, Production Planners other parts of the Supply Chain.

• Develop strong working relationship with the Factory and key suppliers to resolve operational supply chain issues.
