Background, Company Overview and Main Job Purpose:

Unilever UK Foods are currently looking for TWO Skilled Engineering Technicians to join their team. The roles are permanent and required urgently. Based on a variety of shift patterns as flexibility is required. Basic hourly rate is £12.19, which carries variable shift pattern and premiums as follows:

Shift A & B - 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm alternating week by week 38hrs – Mon to Fri - Shift Premium – 15%

Shift C – 10pm to 6am fixed 38hrs – shift premium 35%

Shift D – 6am to 6pm fixed 36hrs – Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Saturday, Sunday, Monday - shift Premium -20%

Shift E – 6pm to 6am Saturday, Sunday night with one additional weekday shift to support planned maintenance – 36hrs - Shift Premium 40%

We are seeking an experienced shift Engineer to support Unilever's Food Manufacturing Site based in Crumlin Gwent. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Food Manufacturing environment. Ideally you will be a dual trained engineer 70/30 electrically biased. As a shift based engineering technician, you will apply your skills and experience working within a fast paced performance culture to support manufacturing processes to achieve business targets with a continuous improvement mindset. Proactively removing line stop opportunities and reacting to breakdowns if they occur. This also includes performing planned maintenance activities during line stops across the operations in line with the maintenance plan.

Professional Skills and Experience Required:

Dual skilled engineer – Electrically biased with a hands on approach.
Experience as a shift technician / engineer within a Manufacturing environment – preferably food but not essential.
Ideally, with a working knowledge of TPM or other best practice .
Experience working with PLC Controls (Allen Bradley & Siemens) a distinct advantage.
Knowledge/Experience working with pneumatic systems, steam raising boilers, pumps, belts, conveyors, transmissions, motors, invertors drives, electrical sensors, switches and assoc' control gear, safety circuits.

Ability to work independently, proactively and as a team member.
Resilience and tenacity to deliver.
Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office suite.
