Maintenance/ Controls Technician I / II

Location - St Albans, VT

WE Nights: (2) 12 hour shifts 6:30 pm - 7:00 am (Sat /Sun) + (2) 8 hour shifts 6:30 pm - 3:00 am (Mon/Tues)

Base Pay rate $33.25 - $37.06 | Weekly Pay Periods

WE Night - additional $4.75 shift differential

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

The Maintenance /Controls Technician I / II will maintain, monitor and repair facilities/manufacturing equipment to ensure their reliable and safe operation.  Execute WO’s and PM’s for ensuring ice cream equipment is ready for service.  Support controls team with PLC and Servo diagnostics, programming, and troubleshooting.  SCADA/HMI screens and VB coding. VFD setup and support, controls systems. Networking. Robot troubleshooting.

· 
Plan, perform and/or oversee preventive maintenance on equipment.

· 
Plan and perform routine system evaluations of mechanical equipment, identifying performance trends or issues and recommending courses of action.

· 
Responsible for PLC programming and troubleshooting.

· 
Assist with Controls system modifications and projects.

· 
Create and troubleshoot iFIX screens, including visual basic coding.

· 
Servo and VFD systems troubleshooting, and programming as needed.

· 
Engineering network troubleshooting.

· 
Learn Robot troubleshooting,

· 
Learn FT View ME.

· 
Participate on evaluation teams comprised of R&D personnel, contractors and vendors to introduce new processes and/or equipment.

· 
Draft procedures and manuals for preventive maintenance of process systems and equipment.

· 
Ensure compliance with GMPs and safety policies while planning and completing projects.

· 
Develop and conduct training modules.

· 
Ensure that our required safety practices are being followed at all times by contractors performing work.

· 
Membership and active participation on the Hazmat team (including IC training) is a requirement of this role.

In addition, there will be exposure to allergens, including but not limited to dairy, eggs, tree nuts, coconut, peanuts, wheat (gluten), soybean and cinnamon.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

· 
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.  Higher education preferred.

· 
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills required

· 
Strong Computer Knowledge and Aptitude 

· 
Strong PLC knowledge (coding and troubleshooting)

· 
Strong Electrical skills (schematics and low voltage)

· 
Advanced project management skills sufficient to effectively work cross-functionally with other departments to adhere to time lines

· 
Experience working in a maintenance shop, using power tools, bench tools, and other various machinery

· 
Required to occasionally lift 50 lbs
