SALARY: £19,000 per annum + 25 days Holiday plus bank Holidays + Company Pension + Training Opportunities + Bonus

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our famous Marmite site and become part of an enthusiastic and brand-driven team in the Burton-on-Trent Unilever factory.
Our site is going through expansion with the addition of a new sourcing unit and we are seeking experienced individuals to drive our business forward in this exciting time. Unilever is world renowned for its brands from PG Tips, Persil, Comfort, Dove, Knorr, Hellman's and Pot Noodle all manufactured at our UK sites.

The Warehouse Operative requires a working knowledge of warehouse systems, ideally SAP, for their area of use, as well as current licenses for all Fork Lift Truck types and related handling equipment. You must be able to conduct manual handling of loads safely and are required to support warehouse and area cleaning. You will support the continuous improvement of factory logistic operations.

You will be trained in the mandated health and safety procedures for the factory and are required to monitor and implement necessary quality standards for material handling and storage. In addition to this you must have a mind-set that supports our focus on Quality and protection of the environment.

The Logistics Operations Worker is involved in the inload and outload of material and product from the factory. This includes the movement and accounting of material into and out of the warehouse, and from the end of line to the point of factory outload.

JOB SUMMARY

The scope of required tasks includes:

· Use appropriate material handling equipment to move product and materials from and to designated locations to support bulk activities in an efficient and safe manner.
· Build pallets and orders as directed to support successful order fulfilment.
· Safe handling and storage of hazardous materials.
· Stock process – handles delivery and sorting
· Work accurately to control warehouse inventory at acceptable levels.
· Analyse material movements to locate parts, serial number, and quantity change.
· Generate movement documentation.
· Pack parts, perform inventory count, stock material in the appropriate locations.
· Efficiently load/unload trucks, bulk rigs and transports with a forklift.
· Assist the daily housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse and logistics area.
· Adheres to all policies and procedures relating to product age and quality.
· Conduct inspection and general maintenance of logistic equipment including lubrication, servicing of filters etc.

Safety – Working knowledge of the workplace and the hazards within it. Utilise appropriate safety procedures relating to the Sourcing Unit and allocated equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team. Carry out inspections, diagnosis and basic repairs in order to maintain safety standards. Understand and apply Risk Assessment to all work scenarios.

Environment - Reduce costs due to waste and minimise impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials. Follow environmental procedures.

Quality - Performs receiving quality inspections as required by policy. Monitors quality against set standards and reports any material faults or safe handling/quality issues.

Continuous Improvement – Knowledge and understanding of the key principles of WCM and an awareness of the tools used to identify and prioritise losses in the logistics area and eliminate them; role requires data collection. Monitor measures and performance after initial improvements and take further action as required.

Teamwork – Must be a good team player capable of working within a highly effective team; responsible, supportive and able communicator.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Essential

· Must have a forklift truck licence
· Minimum GCSE's in Maths and English grade C or above or equivalent
· This will support recording of data, analysis of machine performance and general teamwork skills with an emphasis on good communication.
· Working knowledge of warehouse systems such as SAP.
· Proven experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel.
· Must have experience in a similar role.

Desirable
· Experience of manufacturing in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company.
