LOCAL TAX SPECIALIST

Location: Unilever Poland Services, Katowice
Department: Supply Chain Finance

Purpose of this role:

The local tax team provides services to the supply chain company calculating these local taxes for many European countries. We also calculate the costs of these taxes per product so it can be included in the transfer price. As our Local Tax specialist, you will have to be able to find your way in the local tax legislation of different countries in different languages and be able to work with large amounts of complex data. You are responsible for keeping the company updated on the latest legal developments and you are responsible for finding opportunities in the areas of savings, efficiency, forecasting and transfer pricing.

Main Responsibilities:

· Expert on multiple local indirect taxes in multiple countries
· Set up and maintain processes to calculate these taxes for compliance and product costing
· Set up periodic checks and controls
· Manage internal and external stakeholders, always thinking one step ahead
· Assist with tax audits
· Focal point for local tax related questions within Unilever
· Coordinate the tasks of other team members and support where necessary;
Requirements:

· Ability to turn large amounts of complex data into usable information (declarations) and transparent solutions using MS Excel and/or MS Access (technical or IT skills);
· Professional and intellectual capacities at the academic or higher professional education level
· 2-3 years of experience in international (indirect) taxation is an asset
· Ability to investigate, understand and apply foreign legislation (tax experience)
· Fluent in English
· Strong analytical skills
