Job Title: Line Lead
Location: Crumlin Factory
JOB PURPOSE
The Line Lead is responsible for driving performance of the production lines and for delivery of OEE and waste targets.
This will be achieved through leadership and influence, by the following:

Identification and management of areas of improvement to deliver site OEE and waste targets, with the support of the Focused Improvement Engineers and Process Engineers.
·
Owning and deploying the R2S methodologies, with the support of the cell leads across shifts.
·
Co-ordinating the preparation of and chairing the daily line team meetings, holding accountability of the team to deliver actions.
·
Ensuring the development and training of the team to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
·
Identifying opportunities to accelerate improvement in key metrics, engagement of key stakeholders and driving implementation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Technical Effective technical skills supported by detailed knowledge of the end to end manufacturing processes and endorses Good Manufacturing Practice. Have knowledge of and understands line efficiency targets and performance (OEE) and ensures its cascaded to line teams.
• Safety Utilises appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team. Also ensures adherence by the team members to the appropriate Health & Safety Standards. Full knowledge of hazards in the workplace.
• Environment . Reduces costs due to waste and minimises impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials.
• Leadership Promotes the development of a highly effective teams through the establishment of a positive team climate supported by authentic leadership and clear communication.
• Facilitation and Coaching Able to coach Operators and semi autonomous line teams to build team performance.
• Decision Making Makes governance decisions for the semi-autonomous line team and adjudicates on unresolved team issues. Sets the strategy for Continuous Improvement and Preventative Maintenance in their area guided by loss trends and direction provided by the Process Engineers, FI Engineers and wider stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement Applies rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate losses. High skill level in Continuous Improvement that is aligned closely with Unilever Manufacturing Systems methodologies.
Also supports all other work processes in the line workflows for example - Run to Standard.
• Problem Solving Has the ability to identify, prioritise and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence.
• Quality Applies core knowledge of Quality skills; Quality Measurement, Prioritisation, Improvement, Assessment and Certification etc to sustain Quality standards in the factory operation.
• Administration Timely and accurate administration, including organisation of plans.
• Planning and Organising Prepares work plans within resource constraints and reviews implementation to drive improvement.
• Business Awareness Understands the business needs for change and innovation, aligns with drive for improvement.
• Team Development Identifies and recognises team training needs (Skills and Competencies) to feed into an established training plan. Supports and positively influences the team to follow set standards and practice to ensure performance standards are met. Builds relationships with Shift Leaders and other Line Leads to ensure effective working is achieved.
• Digital Tools Promotes and enables the use of all digital tools at site, for example DFOS and Buildapp. Work closely with the process engineers to drive the implementation of digital systems to the operators and engineers by coaching them through the process.

Must have proven experience managing within a factory environment.

Good planning and organisational skills.

Must be able to work calmly and professionally in challenging or high-pressure situations.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
