MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

With the evolving AI landscape and increasing adoption of AI solutions, leveraging LLM and GenAI, AI assurance becomes essential to Unilever so that we can push the barriers of possibility within the guardrails of responsibility. AI Assurance allows us to assure our AI landscape for Bias, Robustness, Transparency & Efficacy.  The AI Assurance lead manager would be accountable and responsible for strategizing, designing, and transforming this space along with the operations, globally.

The role will be a part of the Technology Governance Function, under the OneTech Portfolio.

The candidate should exhibit strong standards of leadership in creating strategy, driving transformations and operations management. He should possess excellent communication and negotiation skills and display bias for action with a growth mindset.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Develop AI Assurance Strategy:

· 
Formulate and lead the development of comprehensive AI assurance strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.

· 
Collaborate with SI partners, cross-functional teams, including AI strategy, data, legal, cyber, privacy and market functions to integrate assurance principles into the AI lifecycle.

Drive Transformation

· 
Collaborate on Designing and implementing governance frameworks for AI projects, developing policies and principles, monitoring &reporting mechanisms.

· 
Collaborate with the legal and privacy team to scale the AI assurance to comply with EU AI Act.

Delivery and Budget management

· 
Oversee the execution of AI assurance practices throughout the AI development lifecycle, including model validation, testing, and deployment, testing strategies, ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and fairness of AI models.

· 
Manage overall budget and benefit realisation for any business cases developed to support AI assurance.

Stakeholder Communication:

· 
Effectively communicating AI assurance strategies and outcomes.

· 
Provide regular updates and reports to executive leadership and wider Unilever on the status of AI assurance initiatives.

Continuous Improvement:

· 
Drive continuous improvement in AI assurance processes, methodologies, to enhance services provided through partner platform.

· 
Stay abreast of advancements in AI ethics, regulations, and industry trends, incorporating relevant updates into the assurance framework.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

· 
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.

· 
Proven experience in assurance, preferably in AI.

· 
Strong understanding of AI ethics, fairness, accountability, and transparency principles.

· 
Experience with regulatory compliance and legal considerations related to AI.

· 
Experience with risk management frameworks, process automation and governance frameworks.

· 
Proficient in programming languages commonly used in AI development (e.g., Python, R).

· 
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tools.

· 
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

· 
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change.

Preferred Qualifications:

· 
Professional certifications in AI ethics, quality assurance, or related fields (e.g., Certified Ethical AI Professional).

· 
Hands-on experience with AI technologies and applications.

· 
Familiarity with emerging technologies such as federated learning and edge AI.

· 
Proven track record in implementing governance in highly regulated industries.
